Surprisingly, these tracks do sound better than in past recreations, though Original Sound could've done music fans an additional favor by stretching out the CD's to more than a bare half-hour running time. Highlights on the eighth volume include "Great Balls of Fire" by Jerry Lee Lewis, "Blue Suede Shoes" by Carl Perkins, and one-shot classics like the drawling Bill Parsons' "All American Boy," and death rock nugget "Endless Sleep," by Jody Reynolds. ~ John Bush |
