Though he's credited as a producer on GOLDEN GRAIN and appears as a guest on several tracks, Ludacris hasn't put this endeavor together for his own greater glory, but rather to present the distinctive talents of the five young rappers who make up Disturbing Tha Piece. That said, the styles and themes of Jay Cee, I-20, the colorfully named Tity Boi, and the rest of the crew, are not a million miles away from that of their mentor. As in the work of Ludacris, GOLDEN GRAIN offers a consistent mix of R&B/pop hooks propelling rhymes that achieve just the right mix of street-real gangsta scenarios and celebratory, sideways-grinning party manifestos. |

5 of 5 Disturbing Tha Peace Wednesday, September 25, 2002 scarstyles from Bridgeport, WV
DTP(Disturbing the Peace) has a release of their first cd out in stores now and its called "Golden Grain". This CD is amazing, the songs are all good. There isn't one that I dont like. All of the skits are hilarious... I laughed for hours. My favorite song on the cd is R.P.M. It is crazy how fast they are rapping. This CD is by far one of the best CD's in my case and I'm sure it would look great in yours too. You should definitely consider picking up this album... thanks! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 DTP: Dirty South's Finest Wednesday, September 25, 2002 Pun76 from West Chicago, IL
This cd BUMPS! Luda & DTP bring back Twista (Chi-Town What! Chi-Town What!) for what has to be one of the illest songs ever recorded. It's called RPM for a reason, Shawna, Twista & Luda just spit some of the fastest flows ever. Def Jam South CEO Scarface adds a nice blend to the remix of Growin' Pains (Do It Again). All in all this is a must have cd if you love hip hop. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A CD worth getting! Tuesday, September 24, 2002 Kristin from FL
What can I say about D.T.P., except that they have got it going on! Their CD Golden Grain is a perfect example of dirty south bounce music that'll keep you on your toes all day long. The first single released off the album was the Growing Pains Remix featuring Lil' Fate, Ludacris, Shawna, Scarface, and Keon Bryce. The track brings you back to what it was like growing up as a kid. From having G.I. Joe's and Cabbage Patch kids to having your bike stolen.
Another one of the tracks that I'm sure you have heard by now is Move Bi(Ludacris featuring I-20 and Mystikal). If you're having a bad day or are stuck in traffic on the way home just open the windows and blast the song and sit back and relax!
Also, the song Posted by Shawnna is a tight song. Shawnna is one of the best female rappers in the game next to Eve.
So all in all, you can't go wrong with an all star team like the Disturbing Tha Peace family! Was this review helpful?
