GN Netcom 9120 Wireless Headset System w/ Flex Boom - 9120-28-05

I ordered this product because I'm on the phone constantly and it seemed like a great tool for the price. The first shipment came and it would not work on any phone. I called customer service several times - and while they were helpful, they could not get it to work. They finally issued an RMA and I received another product. First of all, this had to have been a refurbished unit because it looked like it had been through a war zone - scratches - wear marks, etc. The downside to that was - IT WORKED! I have it set up at the office and haven't used it enough to tell you if it's worth all of this hassle, but so far it's doing an OK job.

You can probably go shopping with this headset and still get reception from your phone at home. The headset is comfortable and the sound is like talking in person and I've never reached its distance range because I would have had to walk down the street and was always too satisfied to bother. The only problem is that set up is a bit clunky with the lifter and the need for a somewhat old fashioned style phone to connect the lifter to for the lifter to work well. But I highly recommend the product. Buy it with a lifter and then find the phone it will work with. You can use it until you get the lifter portion hooked up, you just won't be able to wear it around the house or office & answer the phone remotely by pressing a button on the headset.

My company has been using this headset for almost two years in basically a call center environment and I provide support for it. Pros: Good range - as stated with walls. Good battery life, most can use it for an 8 hour shift when the battery is new. Good sound quality when used by itself and after "tweaking" the settings to your phone. Settings can be confusing for some people. Cons: Some batteries have died in less that a year. Cost of doing business. Handset lifters started failing in year one. Recommend solution from mfr support was to bang it on the table. "Conferencing" feature doesn't always work, causes sound quality issues and is very confusing for users to implement.

I am lost without my headset. I've used one for years and recently my first one died. I got a great deal and fast delivery when I orderd the replacement from BUY.COM. I can literally walk though my entire home and most of my yard (about an acre) and receive calls. I use the head band. I use this on a VOIP customized system my company installed and do get ECHO from time to time, but I believe that this is the internet bandwidth not the Netcom headset.
