4 of 5 Works great but should be called CONfusion Monday, October 20, 2008 A Customer from NAS Lemoore,CA
I love this phone. We don't get good signal on our phones on this naval base so I got this phone to connect our cells to it. It not only let's calls come through even with now signal, it also perks up our signal most of the time. The only downfall is trying to figure out how to put the new ringtones on. I've done it once and now I can't figure out how to do it again. Ok, well maybe 2 downfalls, I wish you could customize your ring tones so that your home and cell ringers were different. It gets a little confusing. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works great sometimes Friday, September 05, 2008 jim from ypsilanti, michigan
The Thomson GE DECT 6.0 28128EE2 Cell Fusion Cordless Phone still has bugs. Periodically the headsets loose functionality and the base station has to be reset. But when the phone is working correctly its awesome. Being able to utilize my cell phone plan with my home phone is the way to go. Communicating issues to Ge/Thomson is ridiculous. I've received more help by surfing the web. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works well for what I need Wednesday, July 02, 2008 A Customer from Pittsburgh, PA
Since I live alone, I don't have a landline so have to chase my cell phone down anytime someone calls me at home. I decided to get the cell fusion to use as a cell phone extender. It works very nicely. Conversations on the cell fusion through the cell are very clear.

It connects to my cell phone automatically every time I enter the house, it might take a minute or 2 though. Sometimes it even connects when I first pull into the garage (basement level) while the base is on the first floor. The only problem with that is if someone calls me while I have my cell in the basement/garage with me, the bluetooth reception to the base is very low and won't be able to hear anything on the cell fusion and you can't answer the cell phone itself after it's connected to the cell fusion. Also if I am talking on my cell phone when I come home, the cell fusion will connect and start ringing and the cell is no longer able to talk on. I have to pick up the cell fusion to continue the conversation.

You can program your phonebook into your computer and download it via USB to the handsets. For whatever reason there is no USB port to the base (or at least one I can find) and you have to individually import every number from a handset. Also you have to scroll through every name to find a number in the phonebook. It does have 10 speed dial numbers.

On occasion it goes goofy and you have to reset either a handset or the base by unplugging and/or taking out the battery. I've only had to do that twice in the 3 months I've owned it. Goofy meaning can't call out with cell fusion or one time an individual handset would ring when I got a call then shut off then turn back on. I call customer service the first time and the woman explained how to reset it after putting me on hold multiple times, to read her troubleshooting guide I'd imagine, and did eventually tell me the proper way to reset the phone.

Some odd things about my set up with the LG vx5400 is that if there is any kind of alert message on my cell phone (ie missed call alert or battery charged alert or text message alert) you can't make a call out using the cell fusion. (this might have been the cause of one of the resets that I mistook for a cell fusion malfunction) Don't know if it does this with other cell phone pairings. Also I can't check my cell phone voicemail from the cell fusion. I think this is for the same reason as the next odd thing. If I am calling out when someone is calling in, neither call will work (like when someone's cell cuts out and you both try to call eachother back) I think it's the slight delay between the cell and the cell fusion that jack both of these things up.

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 ok Thursday, March 06, 2008 A Customer from lexington ky
Good concept, ok in the real world. The problem is that each time you want to connect you cellphone via bluetooth it does not do automatically. It is hard to determine when a incoming call is cell or landline without having to examine the screen and then determine what button to push. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Horrible phone and even worse tech support Sunday, February 17, 2008 A Customer from SF CA
So the concept of this phone is great. But I am now on my 3rd defective brand new unit, which is completely ridiculous. These people (Thomson) have a serious lemon issue. I've noticed other reviews where people have gotten repeated defective units. So you are taking your chances big time if you buy this phone. You may be one of the lucky few who gets one that actually works. Or you could spend all your time, and your shipping dollars, returning it over and over and over.... If you want an idea of what it is like to deal with these people, just try calling the tech support # listed in the manual you get 800 448-0329. There is no way at all to get to a live person. After extensive internet research and calls to GE, who brands the phone, I eventually got another number that I was able to get a live person thru, but they seem to purposefully make this a very difficult task. Even more reason to buy someone else's product. I am so sorry I ever bought this phone!!! Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Phone Compatability Tuesday, January 08, 2008 A Customer from Orlando, FL
I bought this phone to use with my cell phones. This feature works great along with the ability to create address books on a computer and download them to the phone. The formating option of CID numbers is great for changing them so you can redail.
The only problem, a very big problem is that dialing on the landline doesn't work. It's either incompatable with my phone system (digital phone service provided by Bright House Networks) or a defective product. Phone will only dial in pulse mode and in tone mode passes what I believe is incorrect phone numbers. The only help GE can give is to unplug the phone to reset it. You don't talk to a technican at customer support, its just someone with the same info you have in the users guide.

1 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 It works well Saturday, August 11, 2007 A Customer from Montgomery, IL
I purchased this phone so that I could eliminate my regular land line and just add another cell phone to my current package (way cheaper monthly charge). It performs as advertised. It has tons of features, many of which I'll probably never use, but the basic function that I wanted it for performs well. Was this review helpful?
