2 of 5 mediocre at best Wednesday, June 11, 2008 A Customer from Columbus, OH
This is a decent clock-radio-phone hampered by a few significant flaws.<br/><br/>
First, it was clearly designed by a lefty; if you lift the handset with your right hand it will be upside down (assuming you are in front of the phone). Shame on GE; they could have easily made the handset fit in the base either way, and instead they made it work right for only a small percentage of the population.<br/><br/>
Second, the display is pure s**t. I have little problem reading it, but I'm not surprised by those who can't. The low and medium settings are too dim for day, and the medium and high are too bright for night. Why GE would use this unpleasant blue back-lit screen instead of the tried and true red LEDs most clocks use is beyond me. Perhaps they're trying to trick people into thinking they're getting an LCD screen.<br/><br/>
Third, you have a choice of three harsh and irritating rings, with no apparent way to adjust ring volume. The point of having multiple rings is usually to allow people to choose between different rings, not the same ring at three different speeds. You might well decide simply to turn the ring off.<br/><br/>
Finally, the caller-id function keeps thinking there has been a call every time I pick up any other phone. This may be due to my unusual phone setup (dock-n-talk), but it doesn't happen with any of my other caller-ids.<br/><br/>
The only things going for this clock-radio-phone are its existence (since there are so few choices available), its nice overall feature set (dual alarms and such), and decent performance as a radio (which, frankly, is the least important feature for me). If you're really set on getting a clock-radio-phone, you might have to settle for this, but first I'd recommend seriously considering getting a separate clock-radio and phone. 4 of 5 Clock Phone Radio Sunday, February 17, 2008 Debbie from Pennsylvania
This has a large enough screen so tired eyes can see the time. So far so good with the alarm capability. The only thing we needed to adjust was the radio volume with the alarm. I didn't find it that difficult to set up. In general, I thought it was a good buy. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Don't buy this phone!! Monday, January 28, 2008 A Customer from Sheffield Lake, Ohio
I bought this phone and am VERY disappointed.
The display is impossible to get adjusted correctly for adequate viewing in changing light conditions and the radio sounds extremely "tinny" and weak.
Don't waste your money on this product !! Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Be careful! Thursday, January 03, 2008 mrhuck@cox.net from Las Vegas, NV
My wife bought one of these at Sharper Image. Within two weeks, the display on the handset malfunctioned. She took it back for an exchange of the same phone. Three weeks later, the same malfunction. The 2nd time she got a refund. Was this review helpful?
1 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 Lacks sufficient instructions setting up Thursday, March 15, 2007 moejdon@aol.com from Brooklyn NY
The GE cordless telephone clock radio is a very stylish instrument. However I had a great deal of trouble setting up the radio/alarm function. First, you had to follow the instructions very closely,i.e. hold the button for 2 seconds, then press this button 4 times. Also there were no instructions on how to turn off the alarm setting, for example for the weekend. I finally figured out a way to do it but it is a 2 step process. Otherwise the alarm would go off when you didn't have to get up. Was this review helpful?
