At first I didn't know what to expect, but once I received the monitor, and I learned how to set it up, I was totally elated with the Gateway Monitor. The directions that came with the monitor was not that clear cut, but if you choose the settings of the monitor, and put the insert that come with the product to tilt the screen, you want find a better monitor available. The price was exceptional to value and it was delivered as expected.

Pros: Well packaged, nice bright screen, decent stand, "true wide-screen" 16x9 aspect ration at 720p...Cons: Bought this for an older (4-5 years old) Dell and found that the integrated video would NOT support this newer resolution setting (1280x720) since it's "true" wide-screen EVEN WITH the most up-to-date driver. Had to spend another $40 on a video card (and install myself) that would display that resolution correctly. If your graphic card will display that resolution, this is a great buy, especially when it's on sale for a hundred bucks.

To me a Monitor is a Monitor is a Monitor! However it is a great space saver compared to our old dinosaur. How can you do better than $99 for a nice 17" Flatscreen!

Picture is vibrant. It did have one dead pixel off towards the side of the screen, I didn't bother returning. It is only a temp till I repair a larger screened monitor I have. I would purchase again. For the price of 99.00 you can't go wrong. Free shipping and quick to arrive. Very easy set up.

If you're not looking for a large monitor this is the one for you! I bought one for my home office (from Best Buy for $159.00) to use with my company laptop and then decided to get another to use at my office. (From Buy.com for $125.00) It's a great little monitor with fantastic resolution and easy setup. Shipping time was as stated & free, arriving in perfect condition. You won't be dissapointed!

When I purchased this it was on sale for $99.99 with free shipping. I tried to purchase another small item to put me over the $100 limit on the 'bill me later' rebate deal. However after I placed my order, buy.com cancelled my other item so I didn't get the full rebate! Shipping was fast although the box had a large hole in it right in the area of the screen - fortunately it was not damaged. This monitor replaced a 17" crt so it was a great improvement and takes up WAY less real estate on my desk. Overall, I'm happy with the monitor but not too pleased with Buy.com.

I too got this monitor for $80 with BillMeLater credit! Great deal. I was a bit disappointed in the height and it is my first widescreen so it is taking a bit getting used to it. I love the space saved compared to my old CRT monitor. Would recommend but wait for a better price.

This monitor replaced an old CRT monitor that made us all think we were legally blind, so the transition was startling. I don't have an HD input connected so I can't say how it works in that department but its picture is plenty sharp. There was a small learning curve to get it to stop asking me to reset the video quality but I stooped to reading the instructions (OMG) and all has been well since.

I recently got this monitor as so I could dual monitor my laptop to make school work a little easier. However, I did not expect that the monitor was an HD display. And without an HD chord, the monitor is still clean and crisp. I believe that this monitor is a great buy but I haven't had it long enough to say anything about it's longevity. But...I'm still happy.

The monitor dimensions were not as I had envisioned them, but the out-of-the-box functionality was sound for a bares-bones machine or hand-me-down system. 1280x720 vs. 1440x900 is a no-contest (re: resolution), but the fact that THIS monitor is VGA/DVI/HD-capable was a big plus. I LOVE Acer monitors and drives; since Gateway & eMachines fall under that umbrella, I am pleased, overall.

For the $100 I paid the Gateway 17" LCD is just what I was looking for. Easy to setup, small enough for the area, and good picture quality. I recommend this product for anyone looking for a good deal.

It works great. People who buy this product need to know a little about computers so they can change the display settings on their computer to the correct screen resolution. I was able to do it, and I have bare basic computer abilities. Screen size is perfect for me .. not too small at all. And the price was better than anything I could find at stores and I love the matte screen. I wish I could find the optional height adjustable monitor stand that is sold separately. So far, no luck even through gateway.com.

Screen resolution is only 1280x780, which is smaller than the average screen, especially height-wise. Plugged right in when I bought it, and it works flawlessly. The price at Buy.com was the cheapest I've ever seen. 2nd day shipping got it here the day after I ordered. I would recommend this monitor if you're looking for something basic and cheap.

After using a 17" standard 4:3 screen, I thought this would be an improvement as a widescreen but it was not for me. The screen is a good value for the money, great for a small space with a PC or small TV - but I needed something that has more window area for my PC, so I will go with a larger widescreen. Assembly is a snap, had it out of the box, up and runing in 5 minutes or less. Picture quality is nice, adjustments are very simple.
