4 of 5 Navigation - Very Good; MP3 - Not so much Wednesday, October 28, 2009
A Customer from Baltimore, MD

These comments are 'not' for navigation (primary use) in which it is excellent. For MP3 usage, one might expect easier navigation (buttons are not readily available on the display for quick access).

5 of 5 Best GPS I've used Saturday, May 16, 2009
Rodger from Bolingbrook, IL
I purchased the Garmin Nuvi 360 to replace a Garmin Street Pilot. It has lived up to its expectations. It is very compact and the battery life is around 5 hours when not connected to car power. Navigation is the same as the Street Pilot (very accurate). I had the opportunity to use it on a 1000 mile trip and it even helped me negotiate 2 detours. I haven't had the time connect mt Bluetooth cellphone yet but I am looking forward to seeing how that works. Be aware that the map upgrade on registration takes over 5 hours to perform.

5 of 5 Great value for a great GPS Tuesday, March 10, 2009
David V. from Houston, TX
This is my first GPS unit. I moved to Houston, TX 2 years ago and have always relied on printed out Google maps to get around. This GPS has been a huge time saver. Very quick to set up out of the box. Accurate directions and tons of POIs. The 2 minor drawbacks are 1. The volume could be louder. 2. When you need to manually type in a new address you always have to select the state then type in the city name. It will autofill after the first few letters (i.e. typing HOU gets Houston), however it would be nice for it to automatically default to your home city then simply ask for the street address. This is a minor issue but it takes an extra minute or so when you are entering a new address. Other than that it is Great!

5 of 5 Wonderful GPS!!! Thursday, January 15, 2009
Fred from Tampa, FL
We are very happy with our new Garmin GPS. It was a bargain at below $200 and is chock full of great features. It does all of the things you want from a GPS well. We love the Bluetooth feature that allows us to carry on conversations with people without picking up the phone. Overall, we are very happy with this item. The only gripe is that the screen could be a little bit bigger but with the voice turn-by-turn option it's not as important.

5 of 5 Nice GPS! Monday, January 12, 2009
Chris from Provo, Utah
Purchased this just prior to taking a 4000 mile trip across the United States and back. I've made the trip before, but this little unit made it much easier. For example, when we got hungry- a quick search of the Garmin database told us what resturants were in the area and how far each was. Same thing with gas stations, rest areas, and historic sites! We were able to drive like locals and never had to ask for directions. The built-in bluetooth automatically connects to your phone when you get into the car-turning the gps into a speaker phone. It even reads text messages as you receive them! This is the best value for the price and BUY shipped very fast.

5 of 5 Nice! Tuesday, January 06, 2009
Shane from Fort Payne, AL
After owning the 200W for about a year, I purchased the 360 for my wife. She loves it! Of the additional features, we found bluetooth connectivity with our cell phones to be the most helpful. For example, you can do a search for food or lodging, hit the phone ICON, and the Garmin dials the number automatically. Also, text messages can be automatically displayed on the Garmin screen without having to retrieve them while going down the road. The only weakness that we found with the unit was that many addresses in rural areas are incorrect, but this seems to be a common problem for all GPS devices. All things considered, we would recommend this device, and plan to buy another for our son.

4 of 5 nice gps but... Saturday, January 03, 2009
,ike from pa
I ordered this thinking that it would be similar to nuvi 350 (excellent unit) and indeed it is. Used it only once to go to an outlet store. The mall wasnt in the library, so I pluggged in the address. This unit took me some very indirect, back roads route and when it finally announced that we were finallly there, we were actuallly about ~1/2 mile away???

5 of 5 Small, Powerful - But check the data Friday, January 02, 2009
Seth from Croton on Hudson, NY
We have now had the Garmin Nuvi for 18 months and love it. Just bought another for my father ... price was cheaper than when it first came out. The device is easy to use and powerful. The Bluetooth features have come in handy when driving, since it serves as a hands free device for my cell phone. The MP3 Player and Audible.com features are nice, but would be better if it had a radio transmitter to connect to the car's stereo system. The volume of the device is fine for directions, but the speakers are too weak and tinny for long-term listening to music and books on tape. The only thing I have come to regret is the database. It's great most of the time time, but if the restaurant is new or the highway is new, or the building is new, it will not be found and can lead you astray. There must be any easy way to update it. I don't know if the 360's ship with the most current database, or the one around when the system was created. There should we a web-update service.

5 of 5 European trip Tuesday, December 09, 2008
Pat from Salem, OR
I borrowed a Nuvi 350 with the European map chip from a friend, and drove over 3000 miles in a rented car in August. France, Italy, Monocco, Austria, Germany, and I only speak english. INVALUABLE! I bought the 360 when I got home. I will never go overseas without it. The bluetooth needs to be louder, as I am hard of hearing, though.

4 of 5 Could be better but nice to have..!! Friday, December 05, 2008
ND from Atlanta, GA
Basic functions mentioned on the feature list are perfect. Maximum Volume for voice guidance is low compared to other GPS I previously used including few Garmin models. Surprisingly, it does not pair all bluetooth phones but, the one that it pairs, it works perfect and sound of speaker while talking is really loud which I dont understand why it is not for voice guidance as I mentioned before. It works perfect on directions but, confuses if the target road is either next to the freeway or below the freeway and assumes that the vehicle is on freeway or vice versa...but, i have seen that happening with other GPS as well except Navigon. MP3 player & bluetooth are additional features which make it a smart buy for the price. Overall, it is a fair deal but, Garmin should consider lowering price as there are many other vendors with better features and lower prices.

5 of 5 Download Updates Tuesday, December 02, 2008
Jeffrey from Pittsburgh, PA
This Garmin is my second. It works very well right out of the box. I updated the firmware and bluetooth and have had no problmes. I also downloaded from the Garmin Garage icons for the "car" that look like a sled. They have all sorts of free hoiday icons to add to your garmin. The maps are up to date, but I still found a mall that was not on my map at Thanksgiving. I don't know how "up to date" is up to date. I would guess the information to be about a year out of date.

3 of 5 Great unit while it lasts Thursday, November 13, 2008
Joe from Cushing, OK
These are one of the best units on the market and the price is incredible, fast recalculation, mp3 player and all but the volume could be a little louder. I use the unit in my work van so it's not the quietest of enviorments. My unit lasted for about a year and a half before it started to give me problems and finally just quit picking up the satillites, so no navigation, everything else worked fine but without satilite reception it doesn't serve it's purpose of getting you where you want to go. Luckily I purchased a 2 yr. extended warranty and was able to get it fixed, it took a couple of weeks but everything was working. I just hope it doesn't happen again in another 1 1/2 yrs. because then I'm screwed and it'll be the last time I purchase another one.

5 of 5 GPS for wife... Sunday, July 13, 2008
JamesH from Adairsville, GA
Excellent GPS! We needed a navigation tool for my wife. She wanted the MP3 options, colorscreen, and ease of use. NUVI 360 meets all of our needs. We havent subscribed to the traffic service, but I used it on a friends and it works great. Highly recommend it! Some of the options and settings take a minute to find; this has been our only complaint.

5 of 5 Great overall GPS for the price Saturday, June 28, 2008
Dave from Marlton, NJ
Just received the nuvi 360 and love it! Simple to use, clear screen, and the bluetooth works exceptionally well. The speaker is clear, and the sound on the other end is better thatn the headsets. The only issue I have is that I wish the volume could be just a bit louder, since I use it in my work truck at times which can be quite noisy. I updated the maps (for free) when I first registered it, which took some time, but worth the wait.

4 of 5 Great Product, Great Price Wednesday, June 25, 2008
B.S. from New York, NY
Pros: -- GPS Directions are good. Says street names. -- MP3 Player is good. Songs pause for gps announcements and phone call. -- Bluetooth phone sync and dialing process, phone book integration. -- Volume, Brighness Cons: -- Doesn't have a way to turn off gps announcements when mp3 player is on. -- If headphone (or audio out) is used, phone won't work properly. Disconnects every second. -- Some static when used audio out. -- No way to specify a road to avoid. Can only use re-route. Over all "Satisfied".

5 of 5 Excellent Buy Sunday, June 01, 2008
RM from Flushing,NY
I bought this little slice of heaven and since then never had to worry about carrying any maps with me. The directions are accurate, the spoken prompts are clear and concise and the display is sharp and easy to read. Best of all, most POI's are already in the unit so you most of the time you don't even have to type in the address. Make sure you register your product on Garmin's web site. The reason why this is important is that you get a free map update once you register. Mine came with 2008 maps and I was able to update it for free to the 2009 maps.

5 of 5 SIMPLY THE BEST !!! Thursday, May 29, 2008
Vchats from Delaware
I bought the nuvi 360 few weeks back and just have nothing to complain. Much happier with this one than the earlier Garmin C330 I owned. The bluebooth works very well and was happy to receive the free 2009 maps download after registering the product on Garmin website. Please do it since these adds up a lot of new data. The process is time consuming - but worth the effort. As with all GPS devices...I have just had one occasion when it started recalculating on the freeway - but was quick to get back and display the earlier route. Else - its just worked fine. Very easy to setup and navigate with the text to speech. Overall - would rate it 5 STAR *****

4 of 5 good buy Monday, May 19, 2008
vimal from illinois
i was very pleased with this unit. The directions and bluetooth connectivity with my RAZR was very good. One thing is that the caller id does not show up with newer RAZR2 but it does with my old RAZR. The mapupdate feature from garmin has been down lately so I haven't been able to update my maps. But overall, I am very satisfied with the unit and purchase.

5 of 5 Very Usable for 1st time owners Saturday, May 17, 2008
A Customer from Laurel, MD
I've got a friend who has been showing me different GPS units for several years and I was about to buy the Nuvi 360 and he said wait for the voice recognition models coming in August 08. I looked and said I want to buy now for less than $300 and not $800 or so later for the voice recognition models. I'm happy I did not wait because the unit is very easy to use and recalculates in seconds when you go off course. The unit does not have a traffic receiver but you can purchase this option for about $100. Bottom line, If you want a GOOD, Usable, affordable GPS, this is it.

5 of 5 Fantastic product Tuesday, May 13, 2008
Bob Boling from Sealy, Texas.
My wife purchased a nuvi 350 for my Christmas present last year. I loved it. She borrowed it one time and decided she needed one of her own and I had already decided I needed blue tooth so I gave her the 350 and bought the 360. Never been more pleased with a purchase. We just took our RV 2,886 miles across some desolate places just recently and were able to find food, fuel, and places of interest all along the way and make phone calls while fighting high winds etc using the hands free feature. I love it and would recommend it to everyone.

4 of 5 4.5 out 5. Great but has a few kinks. Thursday, February 21, 2008
A Customer from Alexandria, VA
I have had this for a little over a year now, and I have to admit it is a great product. For the most part the directions are all accurate, but I have had a few instances where they send you to places that don't exist, or tries to send you down a one way street. One time I was looking for a Gas Station and it told me to drive 1/2 mile and it should be on the right. So I drive the 1/2 mile and it's not there, I forgot to mention it was 2am and I was looking for a restroom. I kept driving and it turns out it was about a mile, not 1/2 a mile. It does this from time to time, when it will tell you an address is a certain distance, but it really isn't. I wouldn't say that because of this I wouldn't recommend it, it works very well 95% of the time. It's easy to use, and really makes traveling a lot easier. I read a previous review that said it should have an "Avoid Highway" option, just wanted to say it does have it, also has one to "Avoid Tolls, U-Turns, Unpaved Roads, Ferries, Carpool Lanes, even Traffic" (but I think the last one only applies if you but the traffic adapter). I agree with previous posts that the Bluetooth isn't all that useful. I thought I would be using it a lot more than I do, it does come in handy, but for the most part it's not used. Overall I think this is a FANTASTIC product, I highly recommend it, although it may have it's flaws, I would not hesitate to buy it again.

4 of 5 Good features, I'd buy it again... Wednesday, January 16, 2008
DJ from Warren,CT
...but I have to add, I've had a couple of near misses that have been disappointing, e.g., putting in the address for my aunt's house (an address that's at least 80 years old, and which I already knew, but was using for testing purposes), and having it tell me to pull into a driveway 2 houses away (and yes, I triple checked the address I entered into the Nuvi). On the other hand, going to an address that I had not been to before, I encountered a closed road; I just touched the "detour" button, and POOF! a new, accurate route was mapped instantly. Very nice. Overall, a good device.

4 of 5 Pretty good, pros outweigh cons Wednesday, December 12, 2007
Terry from Phoenix, AZ
I have been using the Garmin Nuvi360 since April '07. It's a clever little device, very powerful and surprisingly useful. I have never used a voice GPS before. I would recommend this unit with a few qualifications.<br><br> First the pros. Navigation is top notch. Except for a couple of minor streets that turned out to be one way or walled off, the maps seem pretty up to date and it usually picks a good route. The battery lasts forever. I tend to keep it plugged in to the car charger, but it will run for 4-5 hours on battery too. It's easy to use and gives you multiple views: close-up map, overhead map, or blow-by-blow directions. It also records your compass direction, average speed, distance to destination, etc. I always forget to reset these numbers so it's not as useful as it should be, but if you like to know these statistics they're there for you. The voice is clear and generally very useful, exceptions noted below. It's got lots of stores and restaurants and public places as well, so if you're looking for an airport or the nearest Home Depot or whatever, just punch it in.<br><br> Cons: there's no way to "speed up" the directions. For instance, if you have to turn right, then quickly get in the left lane, the 360 doesn't always tell you in a timely manner. It is programmed to wait until a certain distance before the next move. But sometimes it does say "turn right, then stay left"; not all that consistent. Sometimes you want it to shut up; the voice can be intrusive. But the only way to quickly mute it is to tap the power switch, then press "mute" on the touch screen. Ideally it would simply have a physical volume knob on the case somewhere, or a mute switch. I would love that feature. The Bluetooth costs an extra $100 over other Garmin models. You should be really sure you need this feature before blowing your money. I got the bluetooth thinking it would be really useful, but ended up preferring my cell phone's speakerphone which to me sounds clearer than the Garmin. And I almost never use the "handy" dialing function because I don't often cruise around searching for the nearest Mexican restaurant or whatever. Also, it didn't properly transfer my phonebook; only a small subset. Lastly, and this is probably the most important thing: if there's construction or a huge traffic jam, it's really hard to convince the Nuvi to change routes. You have to press the "detour" button, and it usually sends you around the block and tries to get you back on the same route as quickly as possible. They need to add a "no highway" option such as Google Maps now has. The database appears to be a bit out of date and does not know about some new major stores such as the nearest Costco for example. It takes about a minute to boot up, not instant-on, so if you're in a hurry it can be frustrating. And even worse, sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes to lock onto a satellite, by which time you're long since lost. Turn the thing on as soon as you get in the car so it can be booting up.<br><br> Also, I don't bother mounting it in the car where every thief can see it. The "anti-theft" feature simply means it won't ever unlock without a password. A thief would have to send it to Garmin to reset, and of course you the owner have already told them it was stolen. I just keep it in the elbow rest compartment and carry it in with me when I park; it's nice and small and fits in a jacket pocket.<br><br> All in all, a good product but I would recommend the bluetooth-less model for $100 less.

5 of 5 Great for finding directions Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Chris from Pitman, NJ
The best feature is that the audible directions include the street name. I do not ever have to take my eyes of the road. I have ridden in friends cars with other GPS systems and I say the nuvi 360 is much nicer. I have only two things that I would like to see improved: 1) I would like to be able to find directions based on an intersection. (Maybe the nuvi can do this but so far I have only found that I must always enter in a house number.) 2) Recalculating, Recalculating can get annoying quickly. The nuvi wanted me to take the turnpike when I preferred to drive on a road parallel to the turn pike. I had to turn it off because ever two minutes it would recalculate how to get me onto the turnpike. Other then these minor things I am very pleased with my purchase.

5 of 5 Outstanding product Tuesday, August 14, 2007
A Customer from Fargo, ND
...does what it promises and does it very well. I had to detour from a route on which a friend sent me through rural Wisconsin; it recalculated and brought me right to his door. Upon departing the next morning, he had a complex, but shorter route on which to send me than going back up to the interstate. He showed it to me on a map, then suggested I take the easier route. When I showed him the Garmin Nuvi 360... it had already programmed to send me on his preferred route!

5 of 5 Great product! Has not let me down. Friday, August 10, 2007
A Customer from Rochester, NY
I have never written an online product review but this product has changed my mind. I have been looking for quite some time for "just the right" GPS for me. The Nuvi product had always caught my eye but let's face it, they are not cheap. I have only had it about 6 weeks but here is my summary. Pros: Great size, ease of use, PC connectivity, text-to-speech, POI's (although I am not sure how often they can be updated - I have easily entered many of my own), Bluetooth speaker phone is nice (hey - it's not perfect but for the casual short conversations while driving it's great), different language selections are fun, seamless routing through Canada (I have heard of other products having trouble with this), display (if you want even bigger Garmin has options), I am sure this is a common GPS feature but it is so helpful to have an estimate of my arrival time (dependent on traffic, etc), mounting HW is easy. I would not trade this for anything. It is the best technology investment I have made in years! Cons: Directions are not always the "fastest" (but I have never had a problem getting where I want to go - it's easy to deviate from the suggestion), would be nice to be able to enter more waypoints along a route. All minor compared to the advantages.

Nuvi 360 is my first experience with GPS and coming from a background where i was lost ;manier times on road, this piece has given me now Piece of Mind.Almost accurate ,Bluetooth,Point of interest,mp3 features have made it a star. Now i dont have to stick a tadpole on my ear or wires hanging from my ear for the making calls while driving. Cons:After coming from outside a underground parking, this piece has to be restarted again for catching the satellite signals.

2 of 5 After 4 Months, Item no longer works: Tuesday, July 17, 2007
A Customer from Midlothian, VA
On Feb 28, 2007 I placed my order for the NUVI 360. Within days, the item was at my door ready for use. The item was great out of the box, Bluetooth technology worked with my Blackberry 8700 first time. My first disappointment was that while having a conversation (Bluetooth) the speech technology is automatically muted, not allowing you to hear your “Turn by Turn” directions. If I were to purchase again, I would buy the 350! My second disappointment was this morning while driving to an appointment. The screen went black; it reset itself and then froze. Nothing has seemed to work and now I have an NUVI 360 that no longer works. I am currently working with BUY.com to replace the product.

5 of 5 Works great!!!! Tuesday, July 03, 2007
Neeky from Bronx, NY
The Garmin Nuvi 360 is spectacular. It's my first GPS and I'm loving it. I recently used it on my road trip from NY to MA and it worked wonders in terms of finding stores, restaurants, points of interests & my hotel. Prior to purchasing this item I did lots of research and noted that most people complained about the volume as being low, which I must concur. I had some difficulty hearing the directions when the window is down when I'm driving or when I'm listening to music. I also had some issues when I was using it in NJ,however, NJ is kind of a weird state w/no left turns from the left lane, instead you have to make "jug handle" turns. So it threw me off a few times in terms of directions. Apart from that I love this GPS. Great price, great product & great service.

5 of 5 Almost perfect Tuesday, June 26, 2007
reece from San Jose, CA
this is my very first portable nav and im very happy with it. battery, material, user interface and size defines what portable really is. there had been thousands of reviews on this product and i may say that all of them are true, from a user's point of view. the question is it worth the $$, yes it is. now that i have 360, did i have a buyers remorse should i had the 660? definitely no. to me its just a bigger screen which in the real world youd just be glancing half a second on it while driving and the real time traffic. thats it for $200 more. plus it is much bigger. bluetooth worked on my phone (k800i) perfect. The only feature i hope it had was a feature magellan has, when typing address, it eliminates/filters letters as you type along this way when driving it is easier to type address, not mistyping it. Should you get one? i recommend it. battery lives up to at least 5 hours. with bluetooth. ease of use is great, very very easy. interface is very user friendly. Alternative. theres only one i can think of, 660.

5 of 5 I love my Nuvi! Tuesday, June 12, 2007
A Customer from Alpharetta, GA
We took our brand new Nuvi 360 on a trip (to San Francisco and Napa Valley) within a few days of receiving it. We were pleased to discover that it initializes inside the buildings - the receiver is great. The audio directions work perfectly (we're listening to "Jill from Australia" but there are several voice options) and consistently tell you to turn before you get to the intersection - an obviously helpful feature. The Point of Interest library seems to be extensive. So far there's nothing we dislike about this unit although additional battery life would be nice.

5 of 5 Smart Product Tuesday, April 24, 2007
Rod from Eau Claire, WI
I was so impressed with what this product can do to make traveling so simple in unknown areas. Ease of use is simply great. The variety of programing choices is also great. The compact design is super. Reception is without question. A really neat function is the automatic recalculation whenever you go off course. To make it simple...it is without question the handiest navagational unit I have ever used for in city street travel. Last Sunday I took it into the resturant and showed family pictures to my relatives. Thanks Buy.com

I purchased this product few weeks ago. It is working very perfectly. Initially I had some problems with suction cup. There is no much documentation/help in the site/brochure about suction cup. Overall I am satisfied with the product.

5 of 5 A must have item Monday, April 09, 2007
Danny from Somerset, NJ
I first ordered the Street Pilot 2720, but returned it because of its size and weight. When I ordered the Nuvi 360 it was slim and very light in weight. It had all the fetures that I needed. Although I don't have a BlueTooth device yet, it will be ready for use on my 360 when I get one. I had to fly to California the day after I recevied it and took it with me. While up in the air it told me what our altitude and speed was. In CA it took me right from my sister's home to my brother's home with ease. It can find and get you to many attractions in any state you are in. The many different voices that you can set it up for is a treat and won't get you bored from hearing the same voice over. The protection pin number feature is a plus. I mostly bought it for travel and when I move to Virginia to find my way around without having to break out all the maps that I am accustomed to. Taking it right out of the box I knew right away I would keep this one. By the way I was able to program it without reading the guide book. Sweet. The only thing missing on this item is a built in radar detector.

5 of 5 Excellent Value Thursday, April 05, 2007
tsacremento from Phoenix, AZ
My Nuvi 360 replaces an older unit from another manufacturer. The Nuvi's performance is vastly superior to the old unit, and at a lower price, as well. The Nuvi offers better sensitivity, improved functionality, enhanced portability, and expanded capabilities. Even the touchscreen is more responsive. What's not to like? I used to measure the time it took for a cold start with the old unit in minutes, but the Nuvi is ready to navigate in just seconds. That's very important to me, because I'm constantly traveling across the country to unfamiliar places. The Bluetooth phone connectivity is a real bonus, as well. Communication is clean and clear both ways, so I no longer need to wear my handsfree earpiece while driving.

5 of 5 How easy can it get?! Monday, March 05, 2007
A Customer from Upstate, NY
I did a great deal of on-line and word of mouth research on all things portable GPS for several weeks before deciding on the Nuvi 360. I purchased this particular one because it had all of the features I was looking for. I had just traded in my car for another and lost the installed version of a navigation system from Jeep. I really liked that one and I didn't think I could find a portable one that would have been comparable. Well, I was very wrong! The Nuvi 360 has all I expected and more. The only downside was the cost. I do understand if I waited a few months the cost would go down as most electronics do however, I was unwilling to wait! Overall, this is a great product that is very easy to use.

5 of 5 Love my Nuvi 360 Thursday, February 08, 2007
Tony from Tampa, Florida
I've had garmin GPS's in the past but this is the best one yet. It worked right out of the box. It announces the street names and gets them right almost all of the time. I use the SD chip to load books on. When I am on a route it pauses the book to announce the next turn and then pick up the story from where it left off. The bluetooth works great and if you are listening to the MP3 player it will pause it during the call and resume when the call is finished. If you turn it off during the play back it will remember where you left off and resume when you turn it on. I have a built in GPS in my other car and it does not compare with the Nuvi. Besides if you are not the driver it will let you program it on the move. The built in one requires you to br stopped.

5 of 5 Best one yet Tuesday, January 09, 2007

I don't need to see the on screen map so the voice directions are the key for me. These are accurate and clear. Makes finding an address a snap. This is the third GPS I have tried and I am going to keep it!!!!!
