5 of 5 Automotive Use GPS Wednesday, July 22, 2009
Bill from Hackensack, NJ

This is my 4th GPS device, if you count my iPhone. It is my favorite in car use device yet. I bought it for the Bluetooth connectivity with the two cell phones I carry. It works very well. It sounds like a speaker phone to my callers but I can be clearly heard. As far as routing, it works well. A user needs to spend some time with a GPS device before blindly making a left onto the RR tracks. The web connected updates that work in the browser work perfectly in Windows & Mac. Almost too easy. I'm used to sweating through processes like this and I shed not one drop of sweat. Very little user interaction is needed, just where you are so the lawyers can add their disclaimers and blame you if you follow directions off a cliff. The ease of finding a Point of Interest is good. Adding "Favorites" is also simple. Downloading extra voices and avatars is easy and fun. I like being a tank or a jet fighter and owning the road I'm on. The screen is clear and readable even in sunlight. I don't like the 3D view - perhaps I'm an old fashioned map kind of guy. I love the ability to browse the map on the screen and tap the location you want as a favorite. All in all I recommend this unit for anyone looking for a GPS with a little more than basic function. It's easy to use, the suction mount moves easily from place to place and the traffic receiver is a few notches better than nothing at all.

3 of 5 Not the Garmin I know Monday, June 29, 2009
A Customer from Jamesburg, NJ
I'm disappointed in this device. I purchased it for my husband and he installed the 2010 maps as soon as he received it. The system seems to take the longest way to any destination no matter if its set to shortest or fastest route - and we know this because we tested against our old street pilot with 2007 maps. I think this was the last Garmin we will purchase.

5 of 5 Hey, I Like This Unit Saturday, June 13, 2009
Joe from Sidney, OH
I've taken this unit to Toronto, to Detroit, to Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY, and other cities. I'm not married to the "arrival time", since it's only an estimate, not an exact on-the-dot arrival. I would like to be able to use the unit while it's connected to the computer via USB like I can when it's connected to the in-car adapter. I know the maps aren't always up to date, but I also know it takes the team a while to drive everywhere to get them updated, as I understand they need to do.

3 of 5 under estimates drive times Tuesday, June 09, 2009
A Customer from Akron, OH
Even when going 10 MPH over the posted limits, I consistently arrive later than it predicts. Traffic functionality seems hit or miss. Sometimes I get notification before I get to a jam/slowdown, other times it never even shows up, even if I've been sitting in traffic for 10 minutes. Historical traffic for estimating drive times would be a huge plus. Also, the speed limits it displays are sometimes very out of date. Some roads I regularly drive have had their limits changed for well over a year and they are still incorrect w/ the latest maps. Nice unit, but I'm a little disappointed from my expectations.

5 of 5 Works great Sunday, May 17, 2009
A Customer from Spokane, WA
I think the Garmin Nuvi 265WT is pretty good for the money, however the only problem I had was when I turned up the volume. The speaker kept making a hissing sound, this was fixed if I turned it back down (80% or lower). The maps worked great, I even downloaded a few topos onto the SD card and they all worked excellant. I havent had a chance to use the traffic feature. The item shipped from Electronic Expo with out any problems.

4 of 5 Would definitely recommend Monday, May 11, 2009
A Customer from Bettendorf, Iowa
I am overall quite satisfied with the Nuvi 265WT, but have found it does not warn of construction areas. Also, had no listing of a new casino which is now approx 6 months old. So had to google map it. Also does not give enough warning before turns. In general, though, I think it is a very good product.

5 of 5 Great Garmin GPS Wednesday, May 06, 2009
A Customer from Portland OR
This is a good Garmin auto GPS unit. Easy to enter an address and recalculating route feature is very quick. I've had several of this type of auto GPS [all have been stolen] this is the first Garmin. Compared to the rest this model is well designed with a reliable touch-screen interface. The map update is process is slow but thorough. This is a good priced unit with many features.

5 of 5 Garmin Nuvi 265WT Sunday, February 22, 2009
ZechTech from Woodbury, Minnesota
This is my first GPS, just plug it in and go. I was very impressed with the Bluetooth phone interface, it pulls up the phones address book for you to dial from. The speaker phone microphone pickup is a little weak, but the speaker part is great. The maps could be a little more up-to-date, I just love driving thru the middle of a field while it's trying to figure out that the free way ramp was moved. The traffic info (life-time in this unit, final reason why I purchased this model, a $60 value) is not as real time as one would want, and triggers an alert a little too far in advance when just general driving. Entering addresses is a breeze, it is just amazing how it can find them on the map. I really do like this unit. Now I just need to figure out where to mount it...

5 of 5 Another great product from Garmin Monday, February 16, 2009
Loving my new Garmin from Fredericksburg,VA
This is my second Garmin and I love it! My previous Garmin (streetpilot 2720)is bulkier and 4 years old and I wanted to take advantage of some of the newer features and since it still works I gave my reliable streerpilot to my husband. The 265wt is sleek and easy to use right out of the box and the free for life traffic is a plus...I actually saved 100.00 plus I received free shipping by purchasing this GPS from BUY.COM If you are looking for a moderate priced GPS this is the way to go.

5 of 5 Great Product! Saturday, February 07, 2009
Mike - from Jacksonville, FL
This is my fifth Garmin navigation purchase. I have gone through the 2620, 2720, 2820, & the Nuvi 200 prior to this purchase. This Garmin being the best so far and by far. Great widescreen display and very happy with the map icon showing you the speed limit for each road your on (the first one I've owned with that function). Best one I've seen or used for the price.

5 of 5 Awsome... Friday, February 06, 2009
Kiran from Philadephia, PA
This is an awesome GPS..this is my second Garmin and am very pleased with it. I would say its one of the "newer & lighter" model from Garmin..in the sense it is a newer version of the software(well improved) with not a lot of "bells and whistles" like mp3 player etc. In my case I don't need these add ons...and its just perfect for me. Calculation of routes is quicker that 650 which I used earlier. I am very impressed with the new software, especially the indicator on top left that tells you the distance until the next turn with an arrow showing the direction. The speed limit indicator which shows the max speed limit for the road you are on is helpful but not accurate. The part of I-276 I travel is 65mpg and it shows 55mph. Free traffic is a bonus, though I haven't tested the feature fully. New firmware has the ecoroute which calculates fuel efficient routes(though I have not used it myself, seems interesting to try). Overall I would say it is a good buy.

5 of 5 Great Product Thursday, February 05, 2009
A Customer from St. Paul, MN
This was my first GPS unit and I am very satisfied. After I received the product I immediately registered online and downloaded voices and car to customize to my preferences. Recently took the 265WT on its first trip and had great results. There were no issues and it picked up the satellites very quickly.

5 of 5 Go for it Monday, January 26, 2009
Sam Tysom from Long Beach, NY
This is my second GPS (first was a Mio C520..the WORST ever) so having had been through this before I can say with a doubt its a keeper. The screens and propts make sense and the routing is 99% on the money. Maybe now and then you think to yourself "I know a better way" or "that doesnt make sense" but if you truly dont know where you are, you can trust this GPS. I wish I could say more about the traffic feature, I havent been in any since the day I got it, I travel in off peak hours to work..But it started working right out of the box and its telling me there is no traffic, and so far its been right..

5 of 5 Great GPS Saturday, January 24, 2009
A Customer from North Canton, OH
The GPS is great. If you enter an address it isn't always 100% accurate. The other day I entered an address and the GPS was off by about a 1/4 mile for the location. This was the first time this happened as all other times it was on within a few feet.

5 of 5 GARMIN NUVI 265WT - BUY IT!! Sunday, January 18, 2009
Peter from Alexandria, VA
I bought the Garmin 265WT as a gift for my self. The traffic receiver works well and is nice added option. This is the 4th Garmin I have owned (one walking/biking & three car). It's the nicest GPS I have owned of the four. I would recommend this one to anyone. The advertisements are tiny, you almost don’t notice them. I use it daily. If you’re looking for a well built unit with traffic then this is the unit for you.

5 of 5 Get a get a get a Garmin! Saturday, January 17, 2009
A Customer from Green Bay, WI
Great GPS unit for the money ($239 Buy.com). Hearing the actual street names is a plus. Wide screen is very nice. Very easy to use and maneuver around the menus. Very accurate driving info. Has a fun feature where you can add themed icons from the garmin website. The included window/dash mount is handy and sturdy. Even recognizes dirt roads off the beaten path. Very happy with this unit. Highly recommend!

5 of 5 Garmin Nuvi 265WT Wednesday, January 14, 2009
Eaner from Minneapolis, MN
I am very satified with this purchase. The lifetime traffic is a plus. It hooked up to my phone very easily, but had to do it twice. Don't know if that was because of the Garmin or the Blackberry. The only complaint I have about this item is that it will not learn your routine routes. Garmin needs to come up with an option where you can say learn this route. Other than that, I am completely satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

5 of 5 Easy to use and fast Monday, January 05, 2009
Doug from Chicago, IL
There seem to be quite a few portable navigation systems in the $100 - $200 range. I opted to spend a little more for the newer model based on reviews that it was faster (for route calculation and screen updates) and also because it included free traffic. The traffic works well and the advertisements are largely unobtrusive. The user interface is simple and intuitive. Excellent navigation system.

5 of 5 Wonderful Christmas Present Saturday, January 03, 2009
A Customer from Goodyear, AZ
This is a fantastic GPS. The screen size is easy to read and easy to use. The lifetime traffic is a real plus. If you deviate from the directions given to get to a location, it automatically recalculates your new route and the time you will arrive. This was a great christmas gift!
