4 of 5 Good Product Tuesday, May 06, 2008 A Customer from Charlotte NC
I bought this GPS product two weeks back and using it every time I go out. It's a very good GPS, with all the basic features you need. I wanted a simple GPS which will help me in reaching the destiation and this GPS is exactly doing that! I found few minor issues like the maps are not up to date, which I dont think is a big deal since I can always update the maps myself. Overall I am satisfied with nuvi 200. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This thing is awesome Wednesday, April 23, 2008 A Customer from Clearwater, FL
This was my first GPS and all I had to do was take it out of the box and stick it onto my windshield. Works great! And it is very simple to use. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This Baby Rocks! Tuesday, April 22, 2008 A Customer from Berwyn, IL
Folks for the price, you can't beat it. Not only is this a GPS, but it's also an information center. This past week I had to do a price comparison on brakes for my wife's car, normally I'd log on my PC and get the phones numbers and call the store, or if I'm in a bit of a rush I'd call 411 and get charge $4.00 on my cell phone. But, with the 'point of interest feature', I was able to locate the 2 auto parts stores phone number, that were near by and do my price comparison. This saved me time and money. Highly recommend!!!! 5 of 5 Best Value for the Money Friday, April 18, 2008 DH from Philadelphia, PA
The Nuvi 200 is great. It boggles my mind that they can cram all those street level maps, destination details like restaurants, stores, etc., AND GPS functionality into a package so small, then sell it for $160. The screen size seems small until you mount it, then you see that the detail is just the right size to keep you from having to refocus from far to near when driving. In other words, you can glance at the GPS and then back to the road without refocusing. Clever design. I love it!! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Garmin Delivers Saturday, March 22, 2008 A Customer from Parkland, FL
I was a little worried about buying one of these. I have a Corvette and the Navigational system never gets you there the best way. Purchased this for the wife's truck and some traveling and it has been great. Very accurate and take you from point A to B without any trouble. Highly recommend this product! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Garmin 200 Friday, March 14, 2008 Dennis Livengood from Rosedale,In.
Only took about a week from the time I ordered until I recieved my unit.I think garmin still makes one of the best units. The unit does need maps updates, which I understand can be gotten from Garmin website. As I came through Nashville Tenn. It was lost ,but at least I knew where I was going. When I got to Indiana and close to home,it tried to take me into the town that my address is associated with, rather than my actual street address. The only thing I wish I had of gotten was turn by voice for the streets themselves. That way you dont have to look on the unit to see what street is coming up that you have to turn on.For my needs this unit is fine I dont need Bluetooth and music.Outside of that I have no real complaints. If I can't get map updates which will take care of the little problems ,I'll be writing another review.Second thing I have gotten from buy .com and wont be the last .

5 of 5 Nice GPS for nice price Tuesday, February 26, 2008 Damon from Dacula
Right out of the box this GPS has worked well for us. It has no problem picking up satellites quickly and quickly calculates and recalculates the best route to places. All the maps are preloaded and banks, restaurants, ATMs, etc.. This would receive all 5 stars except for some minor issue. The maps aren't exactly up to date. Some neighborhoods over three years old are not in the maps. I probably need to figure out how to download newer maps. I also hate the warning and disclaimer menu you have to accept on startup. Why do we let lawyers do this to us? The screen is very good and the device is actually pocket size if you wanted to put it in a shirt pocket. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product! Sunday, February 17, 2008 A Customer from Fort Mill, SC
After reviewing GPS devices for entirely too long, I finally bought the Nuvi 200. I could not be happier with the device. If you are looking for a good, affordable GPS with just enough bells and whistles, this is is.

5 of 5 Great features for the price Wednesday, January 30, 2008 Linda from Charles Town, WV
I have two other Garmin products (a 2720 street pilot for my car and the newer model made specifically for motorcycles), and I love them both. I bought this model specifically for walking. I travel a lot and often have to walk in unfamiliar cities and thought for the price this would be a nice thing to have. The features are good: navigation is great, the setup is easy, there's a pedestrian mode, it's got mp3, etc. However, I thought this model had bluetooth because I had used a similar model and didn't pay enough attention to these specs. My plan was to be able to leave the device in my purse or pocket and use my bluetooth earpiece to hear the directions. Of course I can't do that; I have to use the built in speakers instead. So I was disappointed I couldn't use it the same way I had planned, but it's a minor thing and it was my own fault. Two suggestions, though if you decide to buy one. This unit does not come with a case. Since it has a touch screen, I want to protect it. You can buy one at the garmin.com site, or just use a generic soft sided small case. Second, the only charger that comes with it is the cigarette lighter adapter. If you're using it just in the car, that's probably fine. If you're using it outside the car, you want to be able to charge it elsewhere. Don't spend the money on a separate Garmin AC adapter - for a few dollars you can find online cheap adapters that plug into an AC outlet and accept a cigarette lighter adapter plug.
If you're buying this as your first system, I think it's a great price. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Love it! Tuesday, January 29, 2008 A Customer from Atlanta, GA
Bought this for my elderly mother who just moved into town. We love it. Pretty easy to use, for me it's intuitive, a little more work for her, but I set up some favorites for her and she's just fine. Now I don't have to worry about her getting lost, she can just hit the favorites and choose "Home". Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good Buy Tuesday, January 29, 2008 A Customer from Miami, FL
You can't beat this system, especially for the Price it's offered at.
I've been using the system for 3 weeks now and it's been flawless, save for 1 new street that wasn't on the maps. The voice guidance is great, the display is crystal clear, the speed of updates when you miss a turn is amazing... Trust me, you won't be dissapointed.
The biggest plus has to be the ease of use. Just plug in and go.
Very impressed. Didn't expect this much for such a low price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Investment Tuesday, January 22, 2008 A Customer from Traverse City, MI
I have only had this unit for about a week now, and have already gotten my money's worth. We have had horrible weather, leading to bad driving conditions all over, but particularly on highways. I was able to use my GPS to find different routes that avoided highways, that would otherwise have been unfamiliar with. It was great.
The price I got through buy.com was amazing - about $75 below what it would've cost at the local electronics store. I stuck with the free shipping which still got the GPS part of my order to my door in less than 4 days.
The only negative I've come across is that it doesn't have the most up-to-date listings of stores and restaurants in some areas. But, that's nothing that would stop me from purchasing this product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Gadget Monday, January 21, 2008 A Customer from San Antonio Texas
Hi I bought this gps recently and started using it almost instantly. I had gone to baltimore to see my relatives and had tried using the gps. It works really great. Every place, every nook and corner is correctly directed.
You can avoid highways, if you dont want to drive fast and can take the Farm roads. A wonderful wonderful wonderful gadget. I will never travel without it. It beats the Hertz's Gps also in ease of use. It talks to you.. telling you well in hand.. where to turn and in how many miles you turn. This is the best pic in Consumer reports too..
Sure buy... Was this review helpful?

I shopped all of the manufacturers and their features, benefits and prices and came up with this one as the overall best pick for value for the money. Overall I've been very pleased with the unit. It works well and does everything it says it will do. The only roads not on the map are the newly built ones, new subdivisions, etc. It's been a great unit on the job for me but with one minor flaw. When you approach your destination point it will sometimes tell you that the arrival point is on the left when it is actually on the right or vice versa. Other than this, it's a great unit and I would still recommend it to anybody buying their first GPS. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Can't beat it Tuesday, December 25, 2007 Sparkyman from West Jordan, Utah
Works as advertised, couldn't be easier to use and came with the latest update. Locks on satellites quickly, precision right down to my driveway. Buy one you won't be disappointed!

I was kind of hesitant to purchase it - price looked too low to provide good product. I am glad that I did it, it works perfectly well for me.
I find it very easy to use. Satellite connection is not ideal, but it is pretty fast.
Cons: voice is not very pleasant to hear. Was this review helpful?
