    5 of 5 Don't leave home without it Monday, April 24, 2006
    Tim Drake from Charlotte, NC

I've had one for about 2 years. I like the size and portability, I can stop at a restaurant, check out routes, update travel plans, back in the car it is a real pleasure to have the guidance and freedom from map hassle.

5 of 5 Palm plus GPS..You Can not Go Wrong Monday, January 02, 2006
Doug S from West Palm, Florida
I have herd people say this is pricy but have had one for almost 2 years. Previous PDAs: Palm Pilot,Palm Pilot Pro, Palm IIIe, Palm III and Palm V. This does it all and if you consider the cost of a full feature Handheld GPS and a top of the line Palm it is a real bargain!!!!

    5 of 5 excellent gps/excellent pda Wednesday, October 05, 2005
    Diyarbakir from Madison, WI
This is now the second GPS unit, and first PDA that I own and except the battery life, I am totally satisfied with this product. One heads up though; this unit comes with US street select V6 but you are entitled for a free upgrade to the newest release which is V7. Hence, once you buy this unit, visit http://www.garmin.com/ to register your product. Then go to the upgrades link and request your free update.

    5 of 5 Ever driven at 540 mph? Friday, August 12, 2005
    JO.Skip.Robinson from Rosemead, CA
I took delivery of my iQue 3600 just before a trip from LA to Denver. I had loaded maps but not really had time to play with it beforehand. On the plane, I read the instructions, turned on the GPS, and held the unit next to the window. To my astonishment, it achieved a 2D fix (three satellite signals required), showed me where we were, and informed me that I was 'driving' at 540 miles per hour! My seat partner also owns a GPS device but had never been able to get his to work in flight. We were both impressed the iQue.

5 of 5 Flawless and reliable operation Tuesday, June 14, 2005
    A Customer from Northern Virginia
I tried a Garmin 2620 automotive GPS which was an excellent navigation system (with a beautiful screen), but was too bulky to carry when flying out to another city to use in a rental car. The other two things that bugged me a little bit were a) The screen was landscape mode, whereas people may want to look at a tall map to see where they are headed, and b) On very cold mornings, the unit would display "Warming up, please wait" probably for the 4 GB micro drive inside. The iQue 3600 has virtually the same performance in a smaller package. The screen is beautiful and big but does tend to wash out in very bright sunlight. However that is not too much of a problem since the audio directions rarely need you look at the screen while driving. The big preview screens and turn indication text is visible even in bright sunlight. The City Select V6 map database based on Navteq is excellent in my area, and had my 18 month old street on it (I may have lucked out there !). The navigation software and integration with Palm is excellent. The battery life is short especially for use as a full fledged PDA - it will probably not last the full day. As a GPS on battery the battery life is also short. I discovered when navigating on batteries it looks like the unit shuts off after a couple of minutes (very disconcerting initially). But the unit actually naviagates in the background, and wakes up to to issue audio and screen prompts (for an upcoming turn or whatever), then goes back to hibernate. VERY NIFTY - I wish Windows mobile units did that too. If you use the Garmin car cradle (or other power sources) in the car it will remain on. Bottomline - excellent unit, short on battery life, beautiful screen, bundled Garmin software apps are excellent, but other bundled PDA apps are meagre (only trial versions of DataViz). The MP3 player is excellent. There is an excellent user forum at http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=1f6ee28bb6d28c0201b4838fa8e6ce26&forumid=108

    5 of 5 I Love This Thing! Tuesday, October 12, 2004
    Josh from Pittsburgh, PA
This is my second GPS and my third Palm. I love the fact that the two are integrated. This is the most useful thing in my laptop bag. I have had this for 8 months now and there is nothing better than driving around a strange city with out fear of getting lost. If you are thinking about getting one, I can honestly tell you it is great!

    5 of 5 Garmin iQue 3600 Sunday, September 19, 2004
    Michael Smegielski from Waterbury, CT
I have been in the market for a GPS and a handheld for awhile when I spotted an ad for the iQue 3600 at a local electronics store. I did some searching and found the best price at buy.com. I was a little sceptical of the ability of such a small unit to provide the turn by turn detail of many of the more expensive units. The iQue performs exactly as advertised! The display is clear even in the brightest sunlight, maps are very accurate and the turn by turn directions clear and dead on. I am a part-time Emergency Medical Technician for a large urban ambulance service and I have used the unit on emergency runs with great success. The palm software is minimal but very adequite for my needs, I especially like the ability to read e-books. The only down side is the battery, 2 hours and done. I bought both the car charger and the mobile base unit and both work as advertised. I am very please with the quality and performance and wonder how I got along with out something like this for so many years.

    5 of 5 Saving Routes Wednesday, September 15, 2004
    TomABC from Bridgewater, NJ
I have found the Garmin iQue 3600 a great GPS system. I also own a Garmin GPS III Plus and love the additional control you have with the 3600 like scrolling to other parts of the map, setting a new waypoint and then setting the route to that waypoint. The street maps are very accurate. I only wish there was a way to save your routes and tracks onto the computer so they can be backed up and/or viewed via the maps stored on the computer. You can backup the waypoints. Overall I am very happy with this unit

    5 of 5 Impressive Tuesday, August 24, 2004
    A Customer from Nashua, NH
This device is a standard Palm sytle PDA with a complete voice guided navigation system built into it. The screen color and clarity are excellent. It's a nice PDA. In addition, the GPS navigation is just awesome. It has 5 million points of interest which includes just about any bank, atm, restaurant, school, library, grocery store, hardware store, the list goes on. It includes phone numbers for all listings and allows you to sort them from your current location. I've had the unit about 2 months and the sound guided navigation has been great so far. I've not seen any of the bugs other people mentioned, so I assume they must have worked out the problems. The positives: 1. Unit is stable. 2.Voice guided navigation is near perfect. 3. I use it as a PDA at my desk for appointments, synchronize email, etc. 4. It's portable. Negatives: 1. Battery life is short (2hrs), but if you have it in a dock or car, it's a non-factor. 2. Transfer from leather case to car mount requires you take the cover off it. 3. You need to buy a memory card to store the maps on. Recommend -256MB SD Card

    5 of 5 Highly recommended Monday, June 14, 2004
    danly0808 from New Orleans
I found this device very useful on the road. It had details on city streets and all other things that you need for travel. Although you have to buy a sd memory card(extra space) and a card adapter suction cup to supply the power continuoiusly for the Garmin. Overall, I really like this navigation device, beside we still have mp3, and games for entertainment.

4 of 5 iQue - Great for Land and Sea Wednesday, May 19, 2004
    Jay from Milford CT
I use this unit as both a auto navigation tool and a chartplotter for marine use. Not to keep uploading charts, I purchased a 512MB SD card and can store the NE US from City Select CD and all marine BlueCharts from NJ to Nantucket. (There still is 200+ MB available). Overall very good unit. This is not waterproof so something must be used to protect it if close to water. Biggest complaint is that sunlight readability is poor. Also it took me a while and a call to tech support to figure out that though land maps and marine charts are both on SD card, you must select one or the other via menu options as they don't work simultaneously in the same geographical area. Except for the sunlight readability - I am very pleased.

4 of 5 Best GUI for a portable GPS, but could still use s Friday, March 26, 2004
    A Customer from Sunnyvale, CA
Needed a new PDA, so splurged on this one. A bit pricy for a handheld GPS, but it provides the fastest most intuitive interface of the ones I've used. Still could use some work in: - Easier downloading of non-iQue Garmin maps to the unit (all the manual says is "don't use the normal method" - Announce street names of turns - Stop crashing - Better battery life - Faster lock (takes forever from a cold start compared to my Garmin eTrex Vista)

5 of 5 Excellent GPS and functional PDA Saturday, January 03, 2004
    A Customer from Hoboken, NJ
Very good GPS with a number of options to locate and "Route To" functions. The built in GPS functionality works really well most of the time. It was incorrect only a few times when I was driving in the city with tall buildings. The PDA functionality is classic Palm and very user friendly. The Graffity capability is much improved from my Palm V. There is a SD slot and I use a 512 MB SD card. I wish Garmin had included SDIO expansion capability as well.

    5 of 5 A Must Have! Wednesday, December 03, 2003
    Randy from Lincoln, Nebraska
The Garmin iQue 3600 is a must have. If you are at all considering purchasing this, do so. You won't regret it. Save yourself some time though, and purchase the car charger kit while you are at it. The battery life is short, as to be expected, for what this device is accomplishing.

    5 of 5 This is a winner Thursday, November 20, 2003
    George from Houston, TX
I upgraded from a eMap unit to this one and is just thrilled. The Auto routing capability is amazing, the color is bright and sharp and the screen re-draws are fast. I was also looking at the Streepilot III and the new 2610, but found those to be too bulky. I added a 256mb SD card (Lexar 32x) and stored all the maps between Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, which took about 60 megs. The unit can store mp3 files, so far I have stored audio books on it. The voice reproductions seem to sound a little mechanical, good enough for audio books but am not sure how true music would sound. The PDA features are what you expect from a Palm device, but this is probably not the main driver for buying this unit. It does come in handy since the application will allow you to set a waypoint on an address from your address book. Two shortcomings with the unit are the short battery life (backlight needs to be on or else you can only barely see anything, but can be turned-off when you are just listening to mp3 files), you definitely need a dc charger or the autonavigation kit to use it in a car. Although I haven't done any timing test but I believe the battery will totally drain out in less than 2 hrs with the GPS on. The other problem is the occasional need to re-boot (even after installing the latest rel 2 of the OS), although this may be attributable to problems with the audio book application. I am so impressed that I am contemplating buying GRMN stock, I think this unit will really help their bottom line!

    4 of 5 Garmin's new 3600 PDA Monday, August 18, 2003
    Don A. from Seattle, WA
I have owned the Garmin 2+, 3+, Street Pilot and Colormap and just used the new SP III that talks and this little PDA beats them all. Beautiful screen, bright and sharp, audio is very good considering the size, easy to load in maps and operate. Lots of information on food/store locations, everything the big boys have. Having one problem, under my State I can't get any cities to show up in order to find an address. The other States show them all so have to debug that. Manual is OK but didn't help figuring this one out. In any case, this little fellow can easily replace any GPS unit out there and also has MP3, voice recorder, excellent construction and the charger base is the best I have seen yet.
