I bought this dash mount for my C340 because my suction mount no longer stuck to the window after about a year. The dash mount works ok. It is easy to get the Garmin in/out of the mount and I am pretty sure it is nearly impossible for the mount to topple over while driving. I have taken some hard turns and it barely budged. I have 2 problems with this mount. The first is that it's so expensive. The second is that it tends to shuffle around on my dash. When I hit bumps it moves a little, so every now and then I'll have to bring it back to where it originally was on my dash. Not a huge deal, but still annoying.
This is an ok dash mount, but definitely not perfect. I have to say it is better than the suction mount because it will last longer than a year. Was this review helpful?

I like the fact that one can unplug the power cord from the unit, unlike the origenal that my 430C Streetpilot came out with. Only issue is that the unit slips around on the dash of my truck - so it does not fair well there. Otherwise I like it. Was this review helpful?

I bought this for my parents as a gift and it works great on the Garmin C330 refurb from Buy DOT Com which is a really great buy. I am not sure what you have to do to get this to fall off the dashboard but it would be like something from the Blues Brothers School of Driving.
It also holds the garmin in a good position to not block the driver's view and so that the passenger can operate the garmin easily.

I bought this for My Garmin Nuvi because the windshield suction device does not work. Unfortunately this one is designed only for Garmin C series. I wish they can mark it clearly that it does not work with Garmin NUVI. Was this review helpful?

Fantastic item. Can't imagine why anyone would stick their Garmin on the windshield when there's a product like this! We have a van and a sedan (which has a very uneven dashboard). You just plop this tripod holder on the dash and it stays there.
When you want to move it, just pick it up and go...love it! Was this review helpful?

I wish I had bought this product when I first purchased my Garmin C330. I had been using the windshield mount for my gps and it was hit and miss. It would keep falling off the windshield in extreme heat or if it was real cold outside. I would come back to my car and find my gps laying in the floor. I was also getting a little tired of the rings that the factory mounts leave on your windshield.
I bought this from buy.com and all my problems are solved. This thing works great!!! I was a little apprehensive about it working but not now. This thing holds!! I tested it out going around sharp curves and bumpy roads and it didn't move or swing to the side. It also looks cool!! Definately recommended!!! Was this review helpful?

Very handy, makes driving safer because I can put the GPS at various places on the dash or center consul. Also can store the unit away from where it can be seen by outsiders. No need to stick it to the windshield. Was this review helpful?

I recently purchased the Garmin friction mount and have come to the realization that it is by far better than the suction cup mount. I used it in my car and it worked great, never slid from where I placed it no matter how eratic I drove. I than went on a road trip in a car without navigation and all you have to do is unplug and you can move your Garmin from car to car to car with ease. Unlike the suction cup mount, it will not melt to your windshield nor will it leave marks on your windshield when you remove it like the suction cup. I actually threw my suction cup mount away after I started using the Garmin friction mount. Was this review helpful?

This product is the answer to your Garmin crashing to the dash or floor when the suction cup decides to let loose.
This is the perfect solution. My car has a extremely rounded dash, and I placed the unit and new mount at an extreme angle and put it through a vigorous test at high speeds, fast cornering and rough railroad tracks. Nothing slid, fell or tumbled.
