This collection of 15 historical essays was written by a team of leading Welsh scholars and addresses a wide array of subjects surrounding Welsh history. In particular, themes of ethnic identity and the complexities that surround modern nationality are examined. Attention is also paid to specific areas of Welsh history, including anti-Catholicism in 19th-century Wales, the Swansea disestablishment demonstration of 1912, and the rise of working-class home ownership in Southern Wales.
