| | | He thought there was nothing more seductive than money. He was wrong. Features: DVD, Dolby, Dolby Digital (5.1), Spanish, French, English Douglas Ireland is in one heck of a bind. Should he go for his lifelong dream...or the woman he's been dreaming of all his life? Michael J. Fox stars with Gabrielle Anwar (Scent Of A Woman) in this sparkling romantic comedy from the director of The Addams Family. As concierge at The Bradbury, one of New York's poshest hotels, Doug (Fox) is used to granting other people's wishes. His own wishes, however, are another story. Scrimping, saving and planning for years, Doug yearns to buy his own luxury hotel, but time is running out on his real estate option. Enter Christian Hanover (Anthony Higgins), a wealthy, unscrupulous investor who agrees to bankroll Doug's dream...for a price. All Doug has to do is "babysit" Christian's beautiful young mistress (Anwar) whenever he's too busy for her. But Doug has fallen for the lady and must decide whether the love of his life is worth more to him than Hanover's money. In the grand tradition of classic comedies, this sophisticated, very funny film puts a delightful new spin on love, laughter and romance. For pure entertainment, the choice is easy: For Love Or Money.
 Editor's Note
In FOR LOVE OR MONEY, Barry Sonnenfeld tries his hand at romantic comedy. Michael J. Fox plays an affable concierge at an upscale New York hotel who's used to getting people whatever they want. His trouble is getting what he wants for himself. Doug's dream of building his own luxury hotel seems to finally be coming true when he finds a wealthy investor, Christian Hanover (Anthony Higgins), to fund his aspirations. All Doug has to do is keep his wealthy friend happy, including baby-sitting Christian's mistress when he doesn't have time for her. All goes well until Doug finds himself falling for the mistress, a fresh-faced perfume girl and aspiring caberet singer played by the radiant Gabrielle Anwar. Doug then faces a classic dilemma--will he choose love or money? The setting allows for some beautiful shots of New York City, and the film sports a fun supporting cast, including Isaac Mizrahi, Diane Brill, and Bobby Short.
