| | | Welcome To England's Worst Nightmare. Enjoy It! Features: DVD Based on the bestselling novel by John King, this study of middle-class England, football violence and male culture introduces you to Tommy, a bored twenty-something who lives for the weekend, casual sex, watered-down lager, heavily cut drugs -- and occasionally kicking someone's ass! Tommy's life ambles along until a violent encounter with a rival starts a war, and a series of nightmares forces Tommy to question his way of life. Shot in documentary style with the energy and vibrancy of handheld, The Football Factory is frighteningly real yet full of painful humor, a drug-fueled adrenaline rush about friendship, revenge and violence.
 Editor's Note
Director Nick Love's scrappy drama, based on a novel by John King, explore the world of football violence in England. Tommy (Danny Dyer) feels a rush and a sense of belonging from his hooliganism; his life is going nowhere, and drinking, girls, and soccer are the only bright spots. But escalating threats and violence, along with a series of terrifying dreams, force him to begin reconsidering his path.

| | Professional Reviews | London Times 6 of 10 ...this is undeniably powerful film-making. You find yourself wondering, however, just who Love made this film for. The story is told through Tommy's eyes, so no ethical judgments are made. Tommy does endure his own personal crisis, but it has nothing to do with conscience, more basic self-preservation.While this would have been a far less provocative film if Love (see interview) had taken a moral stance, he does come dangerously close to making it all look like fun. - Wendy Ide
