I have used the sealer several times. The vacuum is not as powerful as I expected so it leaves some residual air in the bag depending on the shape of the item inside. Since there is no pulse button I cannot try another cycle to remove all of the air.

I bought this on sale to replace my lower-end Rival Seal-A-Meal. This Foodsaver model clips to hold the bags in place without me holding the lid down, which is a major improvement. Also, it has a little attachment on the back to hold the vacumn hose for sealing containers, which is just handy. I paid less than half the retail price listed here, so I'm very happy with my purchase. I probably wouldn't have made the switch if I had to pay what Buy.com normally asks though. It still does seem to be a good deal compared to buying this in a big-box retailer.

I wanted to seal my own plastic bags and it does it! I even managed to pull a vacuum on one. You can select the process individually (suck or seal) repeat either or do both with one push. The unit is hefty but not industrial weight. I like it.

My favorite foods to seal are seafood and frozen vegetables, which seem to be the worst culprits for losing moisture and developing ice crystals. This model is virtually, push the button, release, and that's it!

Vacuum sealer works great! very easy to operate even without reading the instructions (reading it will eliminate the trial and error process... locking feature, plastic waffle side down). no more spoiled/frost-bitten food. Buy in bulk and separate them into single cooking portions. As always, fast reliable shipping from Buy.com. Thank you.

My Foodsaver arrived extremely quick, in excellent condition and was just what I wanted. I purchased it to replace my broken Rival Seal-a-Meal ( which only broke because it was dropped). This is a more powerful unit and the retail price in stores was approximately 50% higher - a good value! I especially like the locking feature. My other unit required that you press down firmly with both hands until the unit displayed the "hands free" button (a little awkward when you are holding the bag in place filled with food). This unit simply snaps shut on both ends and then you press a button to seal.
