Notes & Personnel Info | | Tributee: Foo Fighters. | | Personnel: Tom Tally (violin, viola); John Acosta (cello). | | Audio Mixer: Aaron Gant. | | Recording information: Aunt Hill Productions, Santa Clarita, CA; Smartso Digital Studios, Studio City, CA. | | Arrangers: Shaun Drew; Tom Tally. | | This is reissue of Vitamin's 2003 release of the same name. The 2005 version of String Quartet Tribute to the Foo Fighters adds interpretations of "My Hero" and "Monkey Wrench," but other than that it's exactly the same, all the way down to the original composition. The violinists, violists, and cellists play graceful but occasionally staid versions of Foo hits like "Big Me," "Times Like These," and "Everlong," and everyone's happy. As a reissue this is skimpy -- the Foo Fighters' catalog is large enough to look deeper. But the set might still hold some intrigue for Foo completists who didn't purchase it the first time around. ~ Johnny Loftus | Producer: Michael J.
