Features: DVD Adventure ahoy! contains FLIPPER and FLIPPER'S NEW ADVENTURE.FLIPPER: Many kids might say their best friend is a puppy or a pony. But for 12-year-old Sandy, the most special pet of all is the exuberant dolphin he rescues and who returns the favor by rescuing Sandy from sharks. The dolphin named Flipper first swam into the world's minds and hearts in this 1963 film starring Chuck Connors and Luke Halpin as Sandy (a role he would continue in the 1964-1968 TV series that followed). James B. Clark, a long-time family filmmaker whose credits include Island of the Bible Dolphins and My Side of the Mountain, directs the story of hard times (Hurricane Hazel and its aftermath) and joy (Sandy's dolphin-powered rides through the waves). And two fins up for Mitzie, the animal star who plays Flipper! FLIPPER'S NEW ADVENTURE: Grab onto his dorsal fun as the world's favorite dolphin whisks you along Flipper's New Adventure! Returning with the marvelous mammal is his human pal Sandy (Luke Halpin of the original Flipper movie and the beloved TV series). The two friends set out to sea in search of a new place to call home after Sandy hears of plans to take Flipper from him and relocate him in captivity at the Miami Seaquarium. Their risky journey lands them on a remote island and into more dangers that you can shake a tail fin at as they rescue a frightened castaway family from three menacing prison escapees. Along with all the excitement, there's plenty of time for fun as Flipper leaps, body surfs, chatters, dances and delights. Fin-tastic!
 Editor's Note
FLIPPER: The son of a Florida fisherman nurses an injured dolphin. Their relationship develops into true friendship as the animal returns to health. But when the father orders that the dolphin be returned to his natural habitat, the boy is disappointed. Flipper returns, however, to save the day at a drastic moment, sealing the bond that the son always knew was there. FLIPPER'S NEW ADVENTURE: After learning that their home is threatened by the impending construction of a freeway, Sandy and Flipper take to the sea and end up on a desert island, which is inhabited by modern-day pirates.
