I BOUGHT THIS AS A GIFT FOR MY FRIEND'S 3.5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. SHE ABSOLUTELY ADORES IT. I WAS AMAZED AT THE CONSTRUCTION OF THIS TOY....IT SEEMS ALMOST REAL. THE ANIMATION AND VOICE SYNCRONIZATION HAS TO BE SEEN TO BELIEVE. ELMO TELLS LOTS OF INTERESTING STORIES... AND "BONDS" TO KIDS BY TELLING THEM "YOU'RE ELMO'S BEST FRIEND." I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOY... IT LIVES UP TO HYPE IT HAS GENERATED. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG IT WILL KEEP WORKING, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE DURABLE. I DON'T THINK I WOULD CONSIDER THIS FOR A KID YOUNGER THAN 3 YEARS OLD, BECAUSE ABUSIVE PLAY COULD DAMAGE THE VERY COMPLEX ROBOTICS. IF YOU DO GIVE IT TO A YOUNGER CHILD, JUST BE SURE TO SUPERVISE THE PLAY.
