4 of 5 Artful RPG, if a bit tedious sometimes Monday, November 06, 2006
    Carlos from Miami Beach, FL

As with all FF games, this one is way more linear than most present day RPGs, but in truth that's not a bad thing. One of the things I like of this franchise is that they are trying to tell a good story, and that'd be hard to do withouth following a clear outline. Most open ended RPG's of today feel shallow anyways. I still believe the game would be better of with less pointless cutscenes (sometimes you barely press any buttons for up to 10 mins) but oh well, the game is great anyway. Graphics are superb, and although I'm pretty sure that voice acting is far superior in the japanese version, US version is no so bad. All in all, I love this game.

5 of 5 Definite MUST HAVE in your gaming collection! Wednesday, August 16, 2006
    redlei from CA
If you're new to RPG games or Final Fantasy series like myself, BUY THIS GAME. This game didn't disappoint me at all. It's got easy menu/battle control system, awesome visuals, great characterizations, very nice soundtracks and superb story-telling. I've played variety of games except for RPGs. So I went and told myself to try one out and I looked for 'the best' franchise according to many gamers. Final Fantasy. Well, all I can say is, I'm looking forward for other FF titles to come out. BTW, I've also finished FFX-2. I'd never thought I'd be a fan of FF's tenth installment, but I'm glad and proud that I am! ^_^

5 of 5 Makes other RPGs look like toys Tuesday, March 14, 2006
    xephon66 from Swanville, Maine
Wow, thats the only words I can find for Final Fantasy X. There are many mimic RPGs out there that try to be as great as a Final Fantasy game, but they all are nothing compared to this RPG. Summons, magic, cool weapons, unique leveling up system, great storyline, tons of side quests, and great characters. Thats what a great RPG, a RPG that will be remembered, needs and Final Fantasy X has them all. If you are an RPG fan, than get this game.

5 of 5 This Game Rocks!! Sunday, April 10, 2005
    FF Fan from NZL
This is the 10th instalment of the phenomonal Final Fantasy series, this time following the story of a young man named Tidus, and along with six others, his quest in Spira (I'll say no more, play it yourself). This game has stunning visuals, a great musical score, and a deep, powerful story. and they've introduced the sphere grid system for skill and ability development. Great stuff!! This game has just as much emotion as any hollywood drama and has some of the best voice acting I've ever heard in a videogame. This game can't be missed. It's only 20 bucks on this website, so buy it! It's by far the best RPG on PS2

    5 of 5 simpily awsome Thursday, July 29, 2004
    jasonmonbeck from tuscon,arizona
this game is one of the greatest games i have ever played. the battle system is one of the best so far in the final fantasy series. i just cant help but play it over and over again,.(even after u beat it u want to start a new game and play it all aver again.) u will get emoshionaly atached to all the carecters and hope nothing bad happens to them. this games also has one of the greatest endings i have ever seen in a game(if not the the best ending.) this game will take u at least 35 hours to beat, and you wont want to put it down at all during that time. the mini games and side quests are some of the best in any ff game. but the main (and most fun) one of them is bliz ball. i just love this game and it is the best $20 you can spend on a game. so i say get it!

5 of 5 this is the best game ever made! Monday, October 27, 2003
    A Gamer from hfhfhfbn
i think this is the best video game ever made. it is that good because the grapics are like if you were really in the game. this is the kind of game that challenges you to see what you can do. it also has some awesome charecters from kingdom hearts. That is also a so cool video game. It also has something challenging anywhere you go. so dont worry about finishing early. cause you are the one who will beat the game but it will take you a while.

    4 of 5 AMAZING Monday, June 23, 2003
    bandskank_clarinet from nowhere but hell
This game was AMAZING. The graphics were incredible and the storyline just left me in awe! The fighting system was possibly the best I've ever seen in any game - ever! HOWEVER, There are a couple of faults I have found annoy me worst than anything I've ever played. For instance, the difficulty level. this game was EASY. WAY TOO EASY! Except one bad guy I had to do virtually zero leveling. But this is coming from someone that loves to level up - so I did level up and don't know if I could have done without the extensive leveling up - but I'm guessing I could have:P all I know is that I found it extremely easy. This easy game play and the shortness of the game made me very mad. The story line was going great and it just kept coming at you with great twists and turns and just got better and better, but the last bad guy was too easy and it just ended too soon. But the side quests were great! The summons and finding the extra summons was possibly the best part of the game and blitzball is enough of a game to be a game in itself. Overall this game was great except for it's difficulty was way too easy

    5 of 5 Awesome Game Wednesday, April 16, 2003
    A Gamer from Yer Mom
This is one of squaresoft's best games, I have to admit. I've played a lot of the Final Fantasy games and this one was near the top of my list. It has amazing graphics and the backgrounds are phenomenal. The characters are well developed and each have a unique likeable quality (except Kimahri in my opinion). There's a lot of old and new compiled into it, and with the new switch in and out battle system, you can use all of your characters more easily instead of focusing on the usual 3 or 4. Another new feature I particularly enjoyed was the sphere grid. It keeps one character from being the total powerhouse and evens out statistics and abilities, making your entire team great. Aeons are also really cool. You can actually use them in battle, which is a plus. The overdrive system is a lot like limit breaks, but I still enjoy them. The boss difficulty is somewhat minimul, but the monster arena more than makes up for that. Some enemies in there are incredibly difficult, i.e. Nemesis. There are also PAL and International Versions with different features. One thing I greatly enjoy, only because it was totally unavailable in all FF games is the break HP, MP, and damage limits. You can get 99,999 HP, 9,999 MP, and each physical and magical attack can do up to 99,999 (PER HIT!!!). Overall this game is most definitely a product for all RPGers to invest in. I would recommend this game to anyone and still can't get enough of it myself! Great Game!

    5 of 5 WOW Monday, October 07, 2002
    Yuna from Liverpool
This game is boss. The graphics are great the voice actors are cool(no more speech boxes.)The voices help you really get into the game and as always watch out for chocobos. The main character Tidus is hilairious and a bit dim.Nice looking though. He can be funny but also serious about things which are serious. He always simplfies things. Fave moments. 1.The end of course. 2.The beginning movie bit. 3.Tidus and Yuna in the water. By the way I just like the music on that one, 4.The laughing scene. 5.Yuna`s sphere. Notice that because you can name tidus what ever you like no-one ever says his name. He`s called the newest guadian or star player of the zankarand abes. Fave line:Wakka when you fight at mount Gagazet and Tidus tells the rest his dad is sin. "You hit your head?" The end of the laughter scene. Tidus"What you staring at?" Wakka"It okay we thought you going crazy."

3 of 5 Is This Really That Good?? Thursday, July 18, 2002
    XxPrelude V-techxX from Hercules, CA
As a fan of the series, I have played alot of other Final Fantasy's. Now I'm not saying that I know everything about Final Fantasy, but I do know a thing or two about RPG Games. First off, this game has truly amazing graphics and a good soundtrack. However the gameplay wasn't exactly what I expected when I picked this game off the shelf. The game wasn't too difficult if you didn't really care about getting everything the game has to offer, otherwise, it would take a pretty long time to figure out the some of the Cloister of Trials.(Without the strategy guide or the internet) The thing that I really didn't like about the game was that I really didn't get to play alot. It just seems as if your just watching a dvd because you basically only get to battle. After walking a couple of steps, the game cuts into one of those scenes where you have no control over it, plus, you can't skip it either. The storyline was great if you are into the love theme because it wasn't really that predictable like in FFVIII. The good thing is that, again, the graphics are simply amazing and that the characters have voices. The turn-based battle system is a very innovative idea and I think that it should be on more RPG games in the future. However the Sphere Grid system may be good if you know what you want in your characters abilities. It may be just a litle confusing at first but it is easily understandable. So in my suggestion, this game if actually worth buying, only if you are a tru RPG fan. Otherwise, it will be in your pile of Never-to-be-Played again games.

5 of 5 The Best Ever Friday, April 05, 2002
    jofa61 from Toomsuba, MS
Final Fantasy 10. Who would have ever thouhgt that that anything could beat the masterpiece that FF7 was. The game has so many innovations that game players have been asking for, and many many more! The new battle system is awesome, and the ability to use any character at any time is a must. Now we aren't leaving any of our comrades out of the battle. Some may say that the game gets off to a slow start, but after you actully get started the gameplay is unparalled. This is a must try for the casual gamer or the hardcore. I highly reccomend it!

5 of 5 BEST GAME EVER!!!! Saturday, February 02, 2002
    Michael, Neomagic100 from Melbourne, FL
I got this game about a month ago. It is Ultimatly the best game out there. Like it said in another review, a long book is needed to due it justice. The awesome thing that blows all the other Final Fantasies out of the water is all the sidequests. My friend ran through the game, and beat it in 40 hours. I did quite a few sidequests and ended closer to 90! The story is very, very, very well though out. Like I said I beat it, but I am now playing it over with the strategy guide at my side so i dont miss anything. The graphics are the best on PS2, the music selection is pure genius, and everything other aspect of the game makes the game a "prodigy" of the time. As the story goes, the plot twists keep you on the edge of your seat all through the game. They also have the best type of RPG fighting in this, not the crappy "wait for your meter to fill up for your turn". The Overdrive in this game replaces the old Limit Break. This lets you attack even when you have your overdrive, and lets you use it anytime you want, even in a later battle. And.. no more GF's that stay out for 1 turn and leave. There are now aeons (a fance name for GF's) that stay out and fight that you control like a normal character! The types of magic and abilties are well thought out too. Not the fire beam, ice beam, blahblah beam... If you read this review please email me at Neomagic100@hotmail.com for your opinion of my review. Or if you already have the game and have a question about the game or are stuck, email me.. I can most likely help you.

    5 of 5 FFX is a must for your PS2 Monday, December 24, 2001
Edric Young (birddawg85 from St. Pete, Florida
I just started playing today and played for about 3 hours... the controls are just about the same as those who have come before. The graphics are way better than all before it. But it somewhate resembles FF8. I think that FFX has a good story line (so far). The voices are a plus. It brings more entertainment to the game. I used to get bored with reading all the time, now, around every corner they have video. I love the FF series and I hope they never stop making them!!!! Good job on this one Square Soft!!!

I have just got FF 10 2 days ago, and already knowing so much about it (from EGM you guys are the best) i knew that I was going to get the best FF there is out thus far. I've beated all 3 FF's on GB, all 3 on SNES, all 3 on PS and now the first 1 on PS2. Again i've only had it 2 days but im a FF attict so i stayed u for 2 day straight to beat it. It the most graphically advanced game ever released to the public. The look and feel of how the game moves will sweep you up in emotion for each and every character, this long awaited game is worth every freakin' penny, BELIEVE ME!!#*&^! to do this game justice i'd have to write like a 18 page report,is like no other adventure in any game, every. Screw all those gay sports games and stupid driver simulations. CAN YOU SAY WASTE OF YOUR CASH!(*#&??? darn right it is. This game is the NUMBER 1 buy for any PS2 owner. With a story like as big as TEXAS FF 10 will keep you on the edge of your seat for many months to come....I give mad props to this game and all who helped make this massive chapter in the never ending FF series. :) keep it cool, peace -182

    5 of 5 I can't wait to play this game! Monday, December 17, 2001
    Skewlsout from San Francisco, CA
I've been playing Final Fantasy since I was seven years old (FFIV being my first FF). I'm totally pysched about the first FF to hit the PS2, especially with the voiceovers. I've always wondered how a Final Fantasy character would sound like, and now I can finally hear! This game is gonna stir up a lot of expectation, considering every FF game has to be better than the next. From a hardcore FF gamer's stand, I would tell anyone to DEFINITELY BUY THIS GAME. If not for the game, then buy it just for it's NAME! FINAL FANTASY is a MUST! Ok I'm done :)
