While it's a refreshing break from the usual gangsta nonsense (at least their brand of violence shows some sense of purpose and a fresh sense of language), they may be victims of bad timing. There was no way for Killarmy to know that their album, with all its talk about Islamic terrorists and the like, would be released shortly before the World Trade Center attacks. In reality, the group isn't really all that bloodthirsty; from the very beginning, Killarmy makes it clear that their implements of war include a 40 and a blunt. But in the wake of the tragedy that followed FEAR, LOVE & WAR's release so closely, the rappers words speak volumes. Whether their wartime scenarios seem ill-timed or doubly resonant is up to the listener.
