Slow Justice is No Justice
An ex-con sets out to avenge his brother's death after they were double-crossed during a heist years ago. During his campaign, however, he's tracked by a veteran cop and an egocentric hit man.

"...There is nothing subtle about "Faster," and that's the best thing about it.  Bill Goodykoontz, Arizona Republic
"A throwback to the '70s -- straight action with a few clever twists, all anchored by solid characters actors.  Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter
"...meat-and-potatoes action with a side of crazy.  Ty Burr, Boston Globe

Editor's Note
An ex-convict seeks revenge for his brother's death in this action-packed revenge thriller starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Ten years ago, Driver (Johnson) was part of a bank heist gone horribly awry. In the chaos of the botched robbery, his brother wound up dead. Now Driver is a free man, and he's determined to punish the men who killed his late sibling. But settling the score won't be easy, because despite being just a few days shy of retirement, a veteran cop (Billy Bob Thornton) isn't about to let a massacre take place on his watch, and a hotshot hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) has Driver locked in his sights. Unfortunately for Driver, the closer he gets to his targets, the more he puts himself at risk. Later, just as Driver starts to think he's gotten everyone on his list, he discovers that one name seems to be missing.

Expert Review Faster (2010) - DVD Review

When I first saw the trailer for Faster in the theaters, wherein Dwayne Johnson was driving about in a vintage muscle car and shooting off round after round from his shiny and oh-so-manly Ruger Redhawk, I leaned over to my buddy Andrew and quipped, “Yeah, and the sequel will be called “Furiouser.” Indeed, the whole souped-up automobile adrenaline-pumping moving picture genre has become a bit too big for its own britches in the last ten years or so, but I must confess I’d rather watch The Artist Formerly Known As The Rock pushin’ the pedal to the metal in an early ‘70s Chevelle SS than see Vin Diesel zooming ‘round in some modern nitro-charged fiberglass contraption any ol’ day (yes, kids, vehicles were once made with metal)....read the full review

Professional Reviews

Chicago Sun-Times
"FASTER is a pure thriller....Director George Tillman Jr. does a lean, efficient job of creating stark action scenes." 11/23/2010

Los Angeles Times
"The movie exists for its squealing-tire spins and high-speed-in-reverse moves." 11/24/2010

USA Today
"Johnson is always watchable, and, given his hulking physicality, is a natural action hero." 11/26/2010

Movieline
"FASTER was built for speed, and for an action-savvy audience....It's a film about The Rock's intensity-in-10-cities glare and giving it to them that bloody well deserve it." 11/23/2010

Total Film
3 stars out of 5 -- "[B]oth director and star follow the blueprint of all the second-tier '70s revenge-thrillers that FASTER bases itself on, offering up a teeth-gritting, eye-gouging, retro-fitted kill-fest..." 05/01/2011

The Hollywood Reporter 0 of 10
"Faster" is stripped for action without a moment wasted on unnecessary dialogue, exposition or nuances. It starts the moment Dwayne Johnson's archetypical character Driver sprints out of prison after 10 years in stir and doesn't stop until a bullet penetrates the brainpan of the last bad guy. Directed by George Tillman Jr., Faster possesses the white-heat fervor of :'70s exploitation movies with a refreshing emphasis on actual stunts involving cars, weapons and actors who buffed up in the gym for months. No sissy CGI stuff here. (Okay, it's minimal.)This is a guy"s movie, where the female characters are as tough as the men. One woman celebrates her wedding with target practice out in the desert. She hits everything she aims at and doesn't even bother to take off the wedding dress. - Kirk Honeycutt
