Editor's Note

One of the Sci Fi Channel's most popular series, Farscape is the story of a band of misfit renegades on the run from military Peacekeepers. The hero of the series is the human John Crichton (Ben Browder), a young astronaut and astrophysicist who becomes stranded on the other side of the universe when his Farscape module goes through a wormhole. There, he is taken in by the sentient ship Moya, where he tangles with the beautiful and volatile captive Peacekeeper Aeryn (Claudia Black). The second season begins as Crichton, Aeryn, and the Farscape crew are forced to abandon Moyan newborn Talyn so that they may continue their journeys. This volume includes episodes 218-222: "A Clockwork Nebari," "Liars, Guns, and Money Part 1: A Not So Simple Plan," "Liars, Guns, and Money Part 2: With Friends Like These," "Liars, Guns, and Money Part 3: Plan B," and "Die Me, Dichotomy."

5 of 5 Season 2 Comes to a Thrilling Close! Thursday, December 05, 2002
ravynswaan from San Antonio

As the headline says, this set comprises the final episodes of Farscape's second season. First up, for all you Chiana fans, is "A Clockwork Nebari". This dark tale of mind-control is arguably one the darker episodes of Farscape presented yet. When members of the Nebari race appear onboard Moya, including Chiana's long lost (and presumed dead) brother Nerri, the situation is far from a pleasant family reunion. As the title implies, there is somewhat of an homage to the Kubrick film of the same name, when the ruthless intruders "cleanse" the crew's minds one at a time, leaving them free of agressive impulses. This one features some eye-popping special effects and is not for the faint of heart. Next up is the mighty "Liars, Guns and Money" trilogy, the second three-part story of season 2. So much happens over the course of these installments there's no way to do them justice. Find out what happens when the Moya crew decide to rob a bank in order to obtain funds to buy D'Argo's son Jothee in a slave auction. The epic features the return of many old friends and enemies and even introduces a few new ones - one of the Henson Creature Shop's finest creations appears in this story in the form of the ruthless, seductive Natira. Big budget, big effects and loads of action - this is serious Farscape 101. The finale of the season is "Die Me, Dichotomy", written by executive producer David Kemper. After you're out of breath from the L,G & M trilogy, you'll wonder how the season could possibly go any further - well it does. Crichton's insanity takes him over the edge and he's simply no longer himself - he commits a most heinous act against his own will; one which is directly at odds with his emotions and moral code. The heartbreaking finale and gripping cliffhanger will leave you frustrated, hurt, angry and eagerly waiting for the first Season 3 box set to see a release date.
