I bought this for my son who was turning 8, and we could not believe the quality and detail of this micscrope. Our whole family spent hours testing everything in our home from our fingernails to rocks we found outside. Nothing can compare to this micscrope. My 5 and 9-yr old grandsons are waiting for spring to really use this to inspect bugs. They were both impressed to see the magnification, but don't get excited about viewing things unless it involves nature.
