5 of 5 Great buy, but has some oddities Thursday, December 27, 2007

This is the 2nd review I've written for this product,as my 1st one disappeared [deleted by buy.com?].
While this is a great deal and I rate it highly. The odd quirks would have been nice to know ahead of time. First, not all of the outlets are protected. Second, the Led power lights have stickers over the top, with a fake 120 being 'illuminated' etc, not unusual, but the stickers instead of being clear easy to remove style, are more like mailing labels and are a PITA to remove. The phone line and the 75 OHM cable protection are of no use to me, no land line and the filtering blocks Comca$ts on demand features.
So be prepared on the number of outlets being quasi correct, but not all are protected, have some citrus cleaner/goo gone to remove stickers, and don't expect 2 way Comca$t on demand to work through it.
Know this stuff going in, and you will be very happy with it.

I've had it for a couple weeks and it works as advertised. Lots of options for different equipment. Easy to separate the "always on" from the switchable. Neat readout for power consumption. Just make sure you have space for it since it is HUGE. It's a real bargain for Home theater or PC use.

This is a cool looking unit, much smaller than I had expected when see the box it arrived in. For $40, this is a great buy. It has plenty of outlets and offers solid protection. Unless you need a UPS, this will take care of your needs. I've purchased a few other Ethereal products and have been very pleased. Was this review helpful?

Just a few points: not all outlets are protected. There are ALOT of outlets. Phone lines are obsolete and unused for me, the 75 ohm cable connectors are unlikely to support 2 way communication of comcast on demand. The stickers that cover the voltage and current LEDs are a pain in the ass to remove. Satisfies my needs for a good price. Was this review helpful?

This surge protector has LED readouts for the voltage and current. It is an interesting feature for such a low price item. The unit has the traditional surge protection (phone line, coaxial, etc.) one would expect. It has a total of 14 outlets, the most I ever seen or owned. Beware that only six are switched and the other eight are unswitched (always on). Also, the unit is big (20"x6"x2"). Was this review helpful?
