5 of 5 There is no better monitor support system Wednesday, December 10, 2008 Paul from Portland, ME
My support runs three monitors and the ones I just purchased were for 2 of my employees. The arms are up and working great. Install is easy. Adjustments are awesome. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Product Monday, October 27, 2008 A Customer from Dallas, TX
Easy to setup and install, and easy to use! I'm using it with dual 19" HP monitors and they sit level and move freely when needed. The construction is solid and the screens don't bounce or vibrate while typing or working on the work surface. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wall E or Short Circuit for your desk. Tuesday, August 19, 2008 Benjamin from New York, NY
I bought this as a solution to my new monitor and my laptop, and my desire to have them both at eye level and be able to move them easily. This stand was not only easy to setup, it meets all my needs. And exceeds some of them.
An all and all great product! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Students dream come true Wednesday, July 30, 2008 Jeremy B from CT
I also bought this after reading codinghorror's excellent review on his site. as a student this is perfect, I love having the productivity that 2 monitors allows but school desks are small to begin with.

This stand makes all the difference in the world, teh quality was amazing and I loved how they included both monitor arms, 2 extensions, and the laptop arm which came as a surprise to me.

It amazing how much deskspace this free's up, I can now do work at my desk with ease and since the monitors are higher up than before, general computer work is more comfortable Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Simply amazing Wednesday, June 04, 2008 Bob from Draper, UT
I bought this product after seeing a review of it on codinghorror.com, and after reading up on it it seemed like it was the best stand out there. Buy.com offered the best price after shipping was involved and I've been very satisfied with the product, and looking forward to when I have enough money to have a second monitor instead of the laptop stand. It swivels just great, and locking it into position is a breeze. I haven't had a problem with it wobbling if I hit the desk or anything like that. I did have a little bit of a problem securing the grommet mount down solid, but partially it's because the whole I put it on was a bit bigger than recommended for the grommet, but to small for the clamp. But it works great, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to free up some desk space. It's handy when you can just slide your keyboard underneath your monitor when you need space to write something down on paper or look something up in a book. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It's not a monitor stand, it's a bigger desk Tuesday, June 03, 2008 A Customer from Seattle, WA

My office space is not large, so I looked at this as a way to reclaim about 50% of my desk surface. It does the job nicely, letting a Dell 24" display and a Macbook Pro hover at eye level while letting me stash a printer and a bunch of other things beneath and behind the display, where they'd be inaccessible or invisible behind a stand.

It's important that the desk be stable, otherwise banging on a keyboard can cause the display to wobble slightly (though tensioning the arms properly also helps). I was initially disappointed that the arms weren't 100% metal, but the plastic teeth along the bottom edge serve a purpose as cable guides, which are handy. Despite buy.com's graphic depicting silver arms for model number 28-512-195, it is black, as described.

If you check the Ergotron site, they describe how mid-2008 versions of this product have somewhat greater weight capacity. I suspect this is the earlier model, but until I need a 30" display, this one serves my needs just fine, even just using the desk clamp attachment -- you can get more weight capacity by using the included grommet mount, for which you need a hole drilled in the desk.
5 of 5 Well designed and manufactured Saturday, May 24, 2008 A Customer from Redmond, WA
This unit is solid. It does exactly what you hope it will do. The arms are solid and support monitors at full extension. The motion and rotation of the arms and brackets is smooth. Was this review helpful?

I have to say this thing is awesome. Setup is a breeze & it's very sturdy. Gives me access to my whole desk while using 2 screens. I was worried the first few days that it would break the glass top of the desk and fall over crushing the screens, but it's been a month or two and no such thing happened.
The one complaint I have is that I wish it were a little taller; I can't position my monitors more than about a foot above my desk and still have both of them aligned horizontally. With the height of my desk, my chair, and myself, I would like to ideally have the monitors a little higher.
That being said, bought this along with 2 22" widescreen monitors and aside from the neck strain from moving my head back and forth, it's just terrific.
One note: the back of my desk had about a 4" lip that prevented me from installing this thing. 2" would have been fine, but 4" was too much so I had to cut out a 4" space from the lip. So if you have a desk with a nice lip in the back, just keep this in mind. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product Monday, August 13, 2007 A Customer from Chicago, IL
I use this product in my office to hold a 19 inch widsreen monitor, as well as my laptop with the monitor open so I can have dual screen functionality. It works great, looks good, and was easy to assemble. If you are in the market for a stand that can hold two monitors, or one monitor and a laptop this is great choice. Was this review helpful?
