5 of 5 Top Quality Arm Tuesday, June 23, 2009 Mike B from Mountain Lakes, NJ
The Ergotron arms are solid, and well built. I have three of them (1 laptop, 2 monitor, including this one.) and they are worth every penny even at full retail. At Buy.com pricing, they are a steal.
I've also worked with their customer service team and the experience was one of the best I've ever had.

5 of 5 REPLACEMENT ARM Friday, June 05, 2009 GaryD from Hodgenville, KY
I received my replacement arm shortly after I wrote my review on the damaged unit. The replacement was quick, in excellent new condition, and installed with ease. The new 22" LCD/HDTV with built-in DVD play looks great with the arm and function is all I said it was in the previous review. You can't go wrong with erogtron arms and buy.com is a fine company to do business with-- I did have to adjust the tention a tad since the tv monitor had slightly more weight then a regular pc monitor--but this did not pose any problems and took all of two to three seconds to change. Get one you'll be delighted you did! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent! Friday, May 22, 2009 Mark from Bismarck, ND
I flipped the mounting post upside down and mounted this unit under a kitchen cabinet with a 22" widescreen monitor on it. Works better than I'd hoped and is rock solid! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Solid Construction Saturday, May 16, 2009 Rob from Detroit, MI
This is the first 'monitor arm' I've purchased. It is solidly constructed, though some parts of it are metal encased in plastic. I'm a computer guy, not an engineer, so putting it together was a bit daunting. Connecting the metal holder to my plastic monitor was concerning, but it worked out fine. After getting it set up with my 22" monitor, it works fabulous. It is mostly stationary, but when I reposition it it stays and feels solid. It was hardly a necessity purchase for me, more of a geek toy, but it succeeds excellently at that. I recommend it to anyone. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product But Not Without Issues This Time Tuesday, May 05, 2009 GaryD from Hodgenville, KY
I own 3 of these arms, two for monitors, the other a laptop--all have been a welcome treasure. These units are extremely well built, sturdy and easy to install and operate. You have not truly computed until you are using one of the Ergotron articulating arms. No more adjusting yourself in your seat to get comfortable--you can now position your monitor or notebook to meet your current needs and comfort. This makes my third monitor arm (first one in black).
I enjoy being able to maneuver my monitor and laptop without the need to depress buttons or tighten or loosen turn knobs. If you have been on the fence don't hesitate any longer buy.com has the best prices on this brand and the articulating arms are worth every Lincoln Penny!
This is the first time I receive an Ergotron Arm that was damaged. On the articulating arm itself there is a plastic sheild guard to hide the functioning hardware--it had a piece broken on the right side and a crack on the left side. The extention arm which fits between the post and supports the articulating arm had a deep chip exposing the metal base. I have this arm in the REPLACEMENT process with buy.com. I'm confident they will handle the exchange in a prompt fashion.
I purchased a new 22" LCD HDTV and I wanted this arm for that television. Looks like I will have to wait a little longer to set everything up. Will update when the new arm arrives. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Ergotron ROCKS Saturday, April 18, 2009 MichaeD from Blossvale NY
I bought the ACER X233 for my 3rd main monitor. I've been using the double ergotron for my dual display for about 3 years now.
As you see the Ergotron systems are not cheap, but I consider them a great value. This deskmount was well made as expected, works great and it really looks chic. 5 stars for this item AND buy.com ones again delivers a great transaction and fast delivery. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Ergotron LX Deskmount Monday, January 05, 2009 Tami from Wisconsin
I have never used a mounting arm on any of my monitors before and after using this one, I can truly say, "Where have you been all my life?" I simply love this. I spend hours at my computer and being able to adjust the monitor so easily has made all the difference for me. Just like being able to change positions after sitting or standing in one spot for a long time, being able to adjust the monitor even just a tweak can make a huge difference on eye strain. The arm doesn't sag or drift over time. It stays right where you put it. I can't say enough good about this mounting arm. Was this review helpful?

I have six computers in the house and each has a fully articulating mount. This is so far above all the rest I have to give it 5++ rating. It truly is the best I have ever used. Tooling and tolerance is better than anything I have ever used. But this one. It is well worth the extra bucks Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 FANTASTIC PRODUCT, ERGOTRON LX DESKMOUNT Sunday, December 21, 2008 Michael M. from Miami FL
This product is amazing. It conforms to any angle easily. I no longer have to turn my head to look at my monitor; I just pull it right where it's most comfortable, suspended in mid-air in front of me. It's sturdy, well designed, feels durable and stays in place.
Caution: I use this with my Samsung 245BW (24 inch monitor) and because Ergotron doesn't ship this with a compatible vesa adaptor plate, I had to buy a compatible plate for $50 extra to make this work. If your monitor uses 100x100 your good, if not you may also need a different plate. Check your monitor’s vesa specs before buying.
This is the best investment I've made in awhile. I love it. Each bend in the arm is tension adjustable and you should have no problem attaching a heavier monitor to the arm.
I mounted the arm by drilling a hole the size of a pencil through my desk because I placed it near the edge of my desk for maximum extension. Alternatively, this arm can simply be clamped to the side of a desk. Total set up time from box to completion took under 1/2 hour, simple.
Great buy, great product, I don't know how I've ever been able to live without this for all these years. I makes the hours I work in front of my computer a pleasure. This again is a "CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT ITEM".

5 of 5 Comfort for All! Sunday, November 23, 2008 Tom Moore from Allentown, PA
This device allows users of varying heights to easily adjust the monitor to the most comfortable position. It was a cinch to install. We used the desk-top mount on our corner desk which involved drilling a single small hole... others may prefer the alternative desk-edge mount. (Both mounts are provided) For a little over 100 bucks, thanks to Buy.com, we feel this was a bargain and will pay benefits in terms of greater eye comfort and fewer neck and back pains. I'd recommend this to everyone, particularly if your computer has multiple users. Was this review helpful?

Arm shipped quickly and arrived super fast.
Looks and works exactly as described.
I have a 24" Dell 2408fpb on it and it supports the weight perfectly.
Couldn't be happier. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Not a must have but can't imagine being without on Thursday, November 13, 2008 Tim from Brooklyn, NY
This thing is very good for keeping the desk top space free and you can pretty much adjust you monitor how you want it. It's been great for me since I can get neck cramps staring at an angle to view my monitor. It helps me get the in the most comfortable positions when I use my computer. I do however suggest getting longer cables for your monitor to maximize the movement of the arm. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic Product-Great Service Saturday, November 01, 2008 Jim Thompson from Kalispell MT
The headline says it all. With my weird corner desk, mounting a monitor close enough to view with my reading glasses(the joys of aging) has been impossible. The sliding keyboard shelf prevented mounting the arm to the desk itself, so I inverted the column and clamped it to the structural shelf above the desk. The viewing position is perfect and rigid, without even using the included extension. Was this review helpful?

We have installed the arms at all of our public service desks in the public library in order to offer "side-by-side" service to our patrons. The monitor arms are perfect for our application. They are easy to maneuver and are sturdy and durable enough to hold up to commercial, every day (all day) use. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Made my 24" monitor awesome again Saturday, October 04, 2008 Richard Carhart from Tonawanda, NY
I recently bought a cheap 24". The stand for it was cheap and useless. This arm was a much needed addition.
If I could change it, I would make it able to tilt down more. It tilts up all the way (like a table) but only tilts down slightly, maybe 10-20 degrees.
I would recommend this to anyone, its extremely easy to put together and can easily be pushed aside for more desk space. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wow Friday, September 12, 2008 A Customer from New York, New York
I got the Ergotron arm due to the fact that I would be purchasing a small, basic computer desk. This product is great! It is easily adjustable, I have it set to move with only slight pressure, but not enough that it would move of its own accord when moving my desk or other things on the desk. Make no mistake, it is deceptively strong in regards to its holding power. My only two minor gripes are that I received the wrong color (I got silver instead of black) and that the plastic track cover used to hold the cables are rather cheap and the ones on the lower arm don't hold the power and monitor cables well, it's one or the other or, like I did, one and then another further down. 5 of 5 Probably the best LCD Arm you could buy. Thursday, September 04, 2008 A Customer from Columbia, MO
I read plenty of reviews, both here and elsewhere, and it was obvious that this was "the" LCD monitor arm to purchase. I'll agree, it takes some thought to spend X amount of dollars on an accessory such as this but remember, you purchased it from Buy.com and got it at the lowest price online and that is a huge savings AND free dependable shipping!
I have an Acer AL2216Wbd Black 22" Monitor (10.6 lbs.) and even though it may be considered a "value" monitor, it was my money that was spent on it and it is not worth risking my investment on a cheap, may work/may not arm. I knew this would have no problems supporting it and giving me all the flexibility I need, including viewing my monitor in profile mode. Plus, this arm will serve for needs to come. It will easily handle most 24" monitors, as well, which I'm sure I will be upgrading to, eventually.
Thank you, Buy.com. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Recaptured desk space! Tuesday, July 08, 2008 GordonH from Irvine, CA
The unit is sturdy, easy to assemble, and easy to move. The arm is holding a 20" widescreen LCD with ease. I have regained about 4 square feet of usable desk space by taking the monitor off the desk and using this arm. It is easy to move in and out. Wish I had gotten this years ago. 5 of 5 Great product Wednesday, June 11, 2008 A Customer from Midwest USA
I've wanted an LCD arm for a few years now but was deterred by the typical $300+ price tag. I've seen a few other arms for a lot less than this one, but I fear they would be difficult to use (requiring a tool to make any movements) or would lack in quality. Once my LCD arm arrived, I had it setup within an hour (most of which was clearing off my desk!). It was *very* simple and it works great! The plastic shielding feels sort of flimsy, but it seems pretty flexible, so I doubt it will break. I think I'll be purchasing two more of these. One for my 2nd monitor and one for my jealous girlfriend.
I'm using this with a Dell 24" LCD (2405FPW) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Quality Stuff Saturday, June 07, 2008 Ravi from Flower Mound, TX
As I had read in other reviews, this Ergotron product is well made with good material. I could assemble within a short time to lift my 22" NEC monitor. Manuals were helpful and well designed. You need them. Getting that balance of smooth movement back and forth, but not so loose that the gravity wins is a balancing act. Mine is still set to tighter side which needs hard push. Overall, I am satisfied with the product, even though it is kind of pricy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic Sunday, May 25, 2008 A Customer from Janesville, WI
I am completely satisfied with the purchase of this mount. It can hold my Samsung 24" 2493HM without a sweat. My lcd only supports 200x100mm though so I had to buy a $50 plate adapter that went from the mounts 75x75mm to the 200x100mm of my lcd. In the end the mount just feels very strong and sturdy while also allowing you to make quick smooth movements wherever you want the monitor positioned. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent product Tuesday, May 20, 2008 A Customer from Charlotte, NC
The Ergotron LX LCD arm was exactly what I needed to stop the neck and back pain I was starting to get at the end of each day. Moderately easy to install and very simple to use. I wish I had ordered this much sooner. Buy.com had the best price for this item. Regular shipping was quick (four days I think?). I use it with an Acer 22" monitor. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works fine Sunday, May 11, 2008 Dave from St Louis
I bought this because of the adjustable tension arms. I had a desk mount from another manufacturer that could not be adjusted, and after six months or so, it would no longer hold position. This unit was reasonably easy to assemble and install. The instructions could be better. Tension adjustment is explained only in the notebook section. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Flexibility at your fingertips Saturday, May 10, 2008 Mike T. from Chesterfield, MO
The Arm is very solidly made and extremely sturdy. I have it mounted with the clamp and it holds my ViewSonic VX800 monitor beautifully. Although the monitor is an older one and slightly thicker (read: heavier) than the ones currently out, the arm holds it exactly where I put it. I did have to tighten the pivot joints a little to make it stay in place better, but that is part of the design. The extension is very good and I love the fact that I can pivot the screen and use it in a portrait direction for full page editing. For those who don't need all of the extension, the bar mounted on the pole (in the pic above) can be removed. Price here at Buy.com was excellent as well, and I did shop around. 5 of 5 Pretty Nice! Sunday, March 02, 2008 Bruce from Los Angeles, CA
I'll agree with another reviewer: not a huge amount of space for running multiple cables inside the arms, but a pretty nice, well-balanced unit nonetheless. Seems very sturdy and solid. I'm using a pair of them on side-by-side 19" widescreen monitors in a video editing suite. Note that depending on how and where you mount the arm, you might need additional space behind the monitor for the arm's "elbow". Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 good product Wednesday, January 09, 2008 A Customer from Glenwood Springs, CO
Bought to use with samsung 226 monitor and does a great job of allowing me to manage my desk space and works as advertised. Instructions are lacking as far as how to adjust one of the arms, but after some experimenting and adustment found the right combination.
Because i was using on desk with 1 1/2 inch lip, instead of at least 2 1/4 inch, has to modify the handle to tighten. Cut off the extentions until they were less than 3/4 inch from center and tightened with vise grip. After this cutting of the handle the rest of the mounting on the desk went smoothly. Note: will swing back into wall behind and damage paint unless you get it situated the first time. Review was 4 for value and 3 for ease of use with the rest 5s. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works awsome for 24 Wednesday, January 02, 2008 A Customer from Peoria, IL
I have a 24" Gateway Monitor with the speaker bar attached. I drilled a hole to mount the arm. After adjusting the tension screws using the provided tools it works perfectly. The cable management is ok but I have 5 cables running to my monitor so they don't all fit in the holder built into the arm. In addition the instructions are not very well written.... I used the Lego method for assembly, pictures only. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great LCD arm Monday, December 17, 2007 Rich from NJ
This is a good looking arm that meets 95% of my needs. I am using a 23 inch LCD with it.
Easy to install, took maybe 10 min, easy to use but I cannot turn my screen 90 degrees. It turns but will not stay in place. I had watched an install video on another site that demonstrated this feature.
Overall, worth the money and I am happy with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice product Wednesday, December 12, 2007 A Customer from San Jose, CA
Setup was straightforward and simple, although my desk was too thick for the standard clamp. No matter, just remove the lower bracket, yank out the snap ring, reverse the clamp, replace the ring and you're good. Arm movement is pretty smooth, but extension movement could be smoother. Very sturdy, not too bad looking, either. Feels high quality, and the price is pretty good. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Friday, December 07, 2007 Marco from Leland, NC
It is more than what I expected. It is well finished, and it is fully adjustable. I usually try to skip the instructions, but you need to read them in order to get it to stay the way you want. I am very happy with it. I was going to complain a little about the price, but once I took it out of the box, and starting using it, then I understood that the price is right. It clears my desk, and I don't have to go to the Chiropractor... It paid off after the first month!
I bought it with a ViewSonic 22" LCD and it works great. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Two-part arm gives more flexibility Monday, October 01, 2007 Tall_david from Seattle WA
Agree with all reviews that this is sturdy and very well-designed.
Be aware when you install it that it protrudes into your desk space a LOT....but that's where their design excells because you can just use the portion of the support arm that attaches to the back of your monitor and slide that over the mounting pole that you install on your desk.
With only one of the two arms, then you can mount/view your monitor as close as 12" from the wall (otherwise the full two-piece swivel mount sticks out over your desk much further).
So be prepared to make some adjustments and even don't use one portion. (Note: this is NOT well-documented and I was preparing to send it back when I discovered this.) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great! Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from West Palm Beach, FL

5 of 5 Works just fine! Wednesday, September 05, 2007 Smilin' Steve from Beavercreek Ohio
I got this to support a 19" Samsung flat-panel and it worked right out of the box! No drooping or sagging, which was what I had feared after reading reviews for other desk mount arms. The instructions were pretty clear and in multiple languages. Since this arm went on the wall-edge of a desk that fits into a corner, I made sure to position the access hole on the ring that adjusts the height (on the vertical post clamped to the desk) so that I could get to it without having to unclamp the post. The cable concealment troughs did an admirable job with two cables (power and computer connection - no USB). There was a bunch of extra hardware that I didn't need (for attaching various types of monitors to the support arm, etc.).
It works great and really cleans up the desk. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 High Quality Product Friday, August 17, 2007 Yan-Fa Li from Sunnyvale, CA
Ergotron continues to impress me with well thought out and constructed ergonomic products. This is my second LX stand. I have some of their more consumer oriented products and while sturdy they don't have the fit, finish and flexibility of the LX.
The LX supports two different mounting options out of the box, and the stand has stood up to a year's worth of abuse with no real issues. The only fly in the ointment is that the provided cable routing system is inadequate for heavy duty cables and I ended up using a tie wrap to keep everything tidy. Was this review helpful?

<p>
This unit is great. The only issue is the POOR documentation which makes no mention of the ability to adjust the tension or where that mechanism is located.
</p><p>
Good news is that it IS possible. At the first "joint" nearest to the back-plate which attaches to the monitor, you will notice a hole ... inside the hold is a screw. Using the supplied Allen wrench shaped like a "T", add/release tension as needed. Better to have more tension, before attaching your monitor, and then easing off once it's fully assembled and holding your monitor ... otherwise, it will likely sink like a rock and (hopefully) not hit anything on the way down towards your desk.
</p><p>
Once assembled, you'll find that this unit is of solid construction, attractive in design, and having a small foot-print at the attachment point to your desk. As others have indicated, there's no option for concealed cable management.
</p><p>
The unit comes complete with the screws, wrenches and monitor-plate ... for larger monitors whose pre-drilled holes are 100mm apart versus the 75mm distance on smaller monitors.
</p><p>
I use this to hold my Samsung 226BW 22" Wide-format FP which weighs a little over 16 lbs. I can hover the monitor over the top of my laptop, or off to the side, and then move it close to the wall / out of the kid's reach when I'm done with it.

5 of 5 I wouldn't buy and LCD without it Monday, April 16, 2007 Jeremy Palmer from Waco, TX
If you are tall ay 6 foot plus you will find that you are actully looking down at your monitor on your desk. With this LCA arm you put the monitor right where you need it. It is a little expensive. However I could not get my LCD right where I could use good posture. Now I have no problems. My back would hurt at the end of the day because I would hunch over to get a better look at the screen. If you are thinking about buying one, do it, ou wont regret it. About the product it self it is easy to install and well built. I am using it on a fold up table from Walmart and the tabe is really not sturdy enough because you get some wobble on the screen. I have been using this now for 2 weeks and can't imagine going back to not having it. I am using a 20inch viewsonic on it and it works fine. I didn't have any problems with adjustments as some people reported.
Hope you enjoyed the review. It is a great product and I really recomend it to everyone. If the question you are asking yourself is "Do I really need this?" For me the answer is yes and no. You can live without it, but once you have one you really don't want to.
God Bless,

5 of 5 love it Friday, April 06, 2007 A Customer from Albany, NY
I think it's overpriced, but it was cheaper at buy.com than anywhere else. It works beautifully with y Dell 2007WFP 23" monitor (no soundbar). I read a number of reviews and looked into other models and this one seemed to be the favorite. Those people were right. get it. You spent $$ on a good screen, so being able to position it wherever you want makes sense! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 very good quality Thursday, March 01, 2007 A Customer from Carrollton, Tx
Will mount using either 75 x 75mm or 100 by 100mm hole spacing. Instructions were good. You most likely will have to adjust it to compensate for the weight of your display. Parts were well packaged, and of good quality.I would reccomend this product. Was this review helpful?

I bought 2 of these LCD monitor arms. They are of good quality and were easy to install (I opted to drill a hole in my desk to mount them, but I could have used the clamps). They are solid. No problem holding up a Viewsonic VG2021m and a Viewsonic VA912b. They are easy to manuever into any position. The arms have a long reach.
My only complaint is they rotate from portrait to landscape too easily and there is no way to lock them level. Keeping them level when you adust them is difficult. Was this review helpful?

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 The best monitor stand period. Friday, September 15, 2006 Tony from Houston, TX
I have just bought my second stand, I was so happy with the first. My 19" 3:4 monitor required slight adjustment after assembly, my 20" widescreen's stand was perfectly adjusted right out of the box. Very easy to assemble and the suspension stays where you put it, no need to re-tighten so far, it's been six months and the stand gets swiveled & moved around every day. Very solid and professional.
Only negative is cord-management clips don't do much to hide the cables...I used sleeving for an elegant look. Was this review helpful?

This is not one of those necessary things to own but once you get one for a your flat-screen monitor you'll be glad that you did, I'll call it a perk. I owned this monitor arm for about two weeks now & I'm so happy that I treated myself to it .. I have a Samsung 205BW so anyone who has one knows that the base is adjustable with a very slim profile & compared to my old 20" Nokia CRT which took up a lot of my custom-made workstation is like have a briefcase instead of a archive box on your desk, which is good .. with the arm I can swing my monitor off to the side but still be able to view it actually use my desktop for other things like an opened pizza box :) .. now I'm waiting on my deliver for my keyboard tray, so that the only thing left on my desk will be my phone, lamp, ipod & psp docks.
