5 of 5 Steady Eddie Saturday, April 18, 2009
Russ Werth from Bowman, ND

The C88 is still the best and most reliable printer we have had and we have had quite a few. It does many many funeral folders (full color and many many pictures)and always produces the best!

4 of 5 Our 3rd Epson Stylus C88+ Saturday, April 04, 2009
EB from Stockton Springs, ME
The printer is a good all around printer at a reasonable price. It has both a parallel and a USB connection point. What we've found is you have to use the printer almost every day in order to keep its ink jet quality at a high level. Every so often we have had a problem with the jets becoming clogged and have to do head cleaning routines. We also find that trying to print on stiff stock is not the forte of this printer. We've done up to 24# paper and photos with great success. Good software monitoring tool comes with the printer and gives you very good control over your printing jobs. Have had hit and miss luck with non-OEM inks.

4 of 5 Great Printer for the Price Saturday, March 14, 2009
Ken from Long Island, NY
I bought this to replace another C88 which had served well. I use the printer strictly for text (No photos) & it performs above & beyond. The speed is good, the print quality is excellent, as is the software download. It'll run with either parallel and/or USB cables (Not supplied). A drawback is the maintenance page is not easy to find unless your familiar with it

5 of 5 Excellent Printer Sunday, January 18, 2009
A Customer from Alexandria, VA
We have several of the 88's. They print fast and photo quality is actually quite good, even on plain white paper. They are very cheap (never paid more than $80 after rebates). They will wear out after 2+ years, at which point we just replace them. We always use Epson inks so can't comment on substitute cheaper inks. We use Windows XP so I don't know about Vista drivers.

4 of 5 One of the onll printers with a Windows 98 driver Wednesday, January 07, 2009
Eric from Mishawaka, IN
This is an ok printer. We needed to replace an Epson r200 and this was the only printer that I could find that has a 98 driver. Canon and Lexmark only support XP and up. So based on our limited selection this was the printer we choose. We have has installed for 2 weeks now and it runs great. The inks are cheaper than the old printer, and that's about it. A con to this printer is that it is slower than what we would have liked to get in here. Hopfully in the next year, before this printer dies, we will upgrade the computer so we don't have to settle for only one or 2 models.

3 of 5 epson c88+ Wednesday, September 26, 2007
lloydh from New Ulm, Minnesota
My computer has windows vista but the c88+ disc driver is not for vista. In order to install the printer to my computer I had to down load a driver from the epson web site. I got the printer to work, but it does not work properly. I have tried to down load the driver twice, but I still do not have everything down loaded. I can not see how much ink is left, I cannot print more than one copy at a time, and I cannot stop a printing job once it has started.

5 of 5 My Epson Experience Tuesday, September 25, 2007
A Customer from Naples Florida
I've used an Epson printer for years and just upgraded to the C88 after my C60 finally gave out. I would heartily recommend this printer to anyone who wants ease of use and changing of ink cartridges. The Epson $75 rebate when I bought a new digital camera helped also.

3 of 5 not impressed Saturday, August 11, 2007
A Customer from NJ
Not impressed with it. I have an older printer an Epson R220, it is way better than this one. I wouldn't really get this one if I were you. Trust all the opinions that tell you to stay away from this one. Yes, I should have paid more attention too and trusted them.

1 of 5 Real Junk Monday, July 30, 2007
A Customer from Logansport, Indiana
Terrible printer. Never worked well. Drank ink. I finally gave up on it this morning and threw it in the middle of my back yard. As far as Epson products go, I have had two of their scanners for years and couldn't be happier. But .... save your money on this product.

1 of 5 Save your money... and lots of aggrevation! Tuesday, July 10, 2007
Terry from State College, PA
I've owned three Epson Stylus C8x printers (C82, C84, and C86) and the lifetime of each was just about one year. After a year, the printhead on each became so clogged that it had to be replaced. This is with light usage to boot. Actually the first one (the C82) failed even earlier - at the first cartridge replacement! The C84 and C86 were both warranty replacements (the C84 for the dead C82 and the C86 for the dead C84). I replaced the last one with a Canon Pixma iP4300 and have never been happier! (I never thought I'd ever switch from Epson printers, but enough was enough.) I would highly recommend the Canon Pixma iP4300 for anybody looking for a printer in this price range. And would highly DISCOURAGE any Epson Stylus C8x pinter. If they gave this printer away it still wouldn't be a good deal.

4 of 5 Epson c88 Printer Tuesday, June 19, 2007
A Customer from Allentown, Pa
For the price the printer is perfect for what we need here at the office. Can access the ink cartridges very very cheap as well. We have 5 of these printers here and we continue to purchase them as needed. Generic ink cartridges are the reason we purchased the printer.

2 of 5 Severe Paper Jam Problems Thursday, April 26, 2007
KRawson from Redmond, OR
I am on my third Epson C88+ printer. The two prior ones I had ordered started jamming paper just after opening the box and setting up. I had to return both defective printers. The third one that I have right now is working okay...at least for now and I have a fourth one still in the box, just in case this one goes bad, too. The paper jamming is a known issue, but Epson hasn't done anything to address the problem. It's hit and miss with whatever unit you get. You may have to continually return them until you get one that works. Very frustrating.

2 of 5 Doesn't work well on network Tuesday, March 27, 2007
A Customer from Sacramento, CA
Takes approx. 5 minutes to print a simple text page over my network since the software keeps trying to get a response from the printer, but it won't work bidirectional over IP apparently. After the print, I get an error page due to no response to the printer. My 4 year old Stylus Photo 980 was twice as fast.
