5 of 5 Great scanner Tuesday, September 16, 2008 B from Waco, TX
Had to replace older scanner because HP didn't support Vista. I'm impressed with the speed and quality of the scans. Rescanning several family albums and like the controls available during scanning. Installation was a breeze and I like the fact that there's an on/off button. Not enough peripherals have that anymore. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Beautiful scans, very user friendly Wednesday, August 27, 2008 A Customer from NY, NY
I bought this scanner for school purposes, and I love it. It is very simple and intuitive to use. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A VERY NICE DOCUMENT SCANNER Friday, August 22, 2008 marge201 from Fort Lee, NJ
I need a scanner to scan paper, whether it be wedding invitations I receive, business cards, web page printouts, email printouts, forms, etc. I had the same HP printer for over ten years (the 6300) and was quite comfortable with it. Either the hardware or software died (not sure which or why) and it was easier to just get a new scanner. Somehow the current HPs were not appealing to me, either because of cost or more likely the reviews. So I came to buy.com to look around and read reviews and I picked this Epson, and I'm here to report that I'm very pleased.
The key to a scanner (for me) is the software. Any software needs time to learn and understand. Once I understood the software, I was off and running. I scan maybe 5 pieces of paper a day. I'm a low-end but very consistent user. I depend on the scanner to keep my life and work in order.
I haven't scanned any photographs with this scanner. (I scanned most of my photographs over the years.) When I do have a photo to scan, I'm sure this scanner will do a good enough job for me. I like that has the slide attachment, which I haven't used yet, but I do have slides to scan and I'm sure it'll do a fine job.
It's a nice size, very attractive, and has a flat top so when not in use, you can lay stuff on the scanner.
For me, this is a great scanner. I am very very pleased. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Decent scanner. Just bought. Monday, May 19, 2008 A Customer from Central Islip, NY
Bought as a replacement for Epson 1650 which gave out after a while (I'm guessing power failure cause it wouldn't turn on). This scanner is slightly lighter. The adjustable lid is nice. Feels a tiny bit flimsy, but all light things do. Has a power off button, which is nice for infrequent use. One of the requirements is the ability to scan slides. This one has 4 slots for 4 slides. Does a decent job. The software is ok (I didn't update from previous epson scanner). A good scanner overall. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Scanner for Vista Saturday, April 19, 2008 Pat Frickleton patfrick@lvbw.net from Galena, MO
I bought this scanner because the microsoft and Visioneer people made my fairly new scanner obsolete under Vista. I consider it a good value for the money since my scanning needs are simple. I have not used the more challenging features but will when I get into it more. Scanner was as advertized, simple to setup and use. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product Saturday, April 19, 2008 C. from Canton, OH
Works well with Vista, good scanning speed, standard software ok. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Impressive output, good value for money Monday, March 10, 2008 aaronkw@hotmail.com from Woodinville, WA
Installation: Following the simple step-by-step instructions on the Quick Start fold-out, it was easy to get the scanner ready and installed.
Operation: 4 buttons on the scanner, each clearly marked. Simple to operate, each button activates its own application tool onscreen, whether pdf or email attachment etc.
Pros: Very impressive output of color photos, documents. Accurate color reproduction. Having the extendable hinge really works when scanning pages in thick books.
Cons: Noisy in operation (louder than my microwave). Unless you chose a specific application to use all the time, it is slightly inconvenient to have to make the application selection every time you switch on and start to make scans.
Overall: I think I have received good value for my money. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great scanner Sunday, March 02, 2008 W7UY from Bedford, WY
The install for Vista took a long time but it was worth it. No compatability problems as with Canon and HP. It works great with photographs, and the ability to scan in slides and negatives is a real plus. I am scanning in boxes of old slides that I may never have seen again without this scanner.
This is the first Epson product that I have purchased since the pre-PC days when Epson printers were the best around. It won't be my last Epson purchase. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wow! Saturday, March 01, 2008 George from San Francisco, CA
I was blown away at how easy this scanner was to use but even more by the awesome quality and performace. It is an amazing piece of hardware for the price. I'm a jewelry designer and bought it to scan my jewelry with and the resolution and details in my scans are better than the images I was getting photographing my creations. I highly recommend this scanner to anyone looking for a scanner that is able to scan 3D objects. The included software is above average in all respects.
Delivery was fast also. Buy.com has made me a happy man. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Epson Scanner-V200 Wednesday, January 23, 2008 joe.giovenco@earthlink.net from Buffalo, NY
Great product, integrates really well on my Mac, as do all Epson products. Slide/negative scanner was a bit tricky at first, but once I figured it out, it was easy. In the pro/mode, the variables presented are extensive and much more than I will ever need. It is an attractive device and seems to be very well made. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It works Monday, January 21, 2008 A Customer from New Mexico
I bought it for a non-profit to use as an inexpensive document scanner because it got a good review in one of the computer magazines; also, because I own two other Epson scanners and they work well. I just installed this one and it does what I want it to do, scan documents into PaperPort. I haven't used it to scan photos but I'm sure it will do the job if that is needed. It's a lot less expensive than the other scanners so is a great value for what I need -- I expected to have to pay more. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Epson 'Perfection' well named Monday, January 14, 2008 Barbara Klemm from Applegate, OR
After looking at and pricing scanners in retail stores, I decided to check your site. The Epson Perfection V200 Photo
Scanner had the features I was looking for and the price was too good to pass up. The software was easy to install, the
operation is simple to understand and the quality of the product is excellent. I would not hesitate to highly recommend
this scanner to anyone. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Scanner Wednesday, December 19, 2007 Bill from Auburn, WA
I have been using scanners since 1993 and this scanner for the price is unbelievable. I had a box full of slides and negatives form the early 80s. I scanned all of them in one night with excellent results. I would recommend this to all my friends Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Very nice product and performance Friday, December 14, 2007 A Customer from Inglewood, CA
Haven't used this scanner for photos as of now. It works great and easy to set up the OCR. Using the scanner as a copying machine is also very easy and quick. Good deal and good value. I highly recommend this product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy setup, straightforward usage, good results Friday, November 30, 2007 A Customer from Jersey City, NJ
Had this scanner for several weeks. Setup was easy, there are buttons for everything including power off (no wasting energy), no compatibility issues nor conflicts with Windows XP Home, Photoshop, Illustrator, or any MS Office app. Scanning artwork, magazines, and photos were all great quality for 300 dpi inkjet printing. Have not used it for slide/negative scanning nor OCR, which is more about software anyways. Overall great deal for the price and everyday home use. Was this review helpful?
