The band's post-Green Day pop-punk leaps out of the speakers with zero subtlety and maximum aggression. Guitars alternately blaze and chug over breakneck rhythms, while the vocal melodies pay homage to the time-honored pop hook tradition. Despite the band's four-on-the-floor approach, the arrangements are regulated by careful, radio-minded production for a more accessible sound. | | Blink 182 embodies all the rock & roll verities, from savage, power chord-driven, guitar-bass-and-drums attack to a carefully cultivated tastelessness (see album title and cover art), bolstered by plenty of attitude (the abundance of tattoos doesn't hurt either). | | Artist Overview | | California skate-punk trio Blink 182 employed a snappy mix of punk-pop and humor that appealed to a whole new generation of rock fans too young to have fully appreciated Green Day's initial impact. These third- (or fourth-) generation punks became the linchpin of an entire movement; any late-1990s/early-2000s kid whose life revolved around skateboarding, the Vans Warped tours, and multiple body piercings probably made a place of honor in his collection for the colorfully titled ENEMA OF THE STATE and TAKE OFF YOUR PANTS & JACKET. The band went on indefinite hiatus in 2005, and guitarist Tom Delonge introduced his new band, Angels And Airwaves, in 2006. In 2009, Blink 182 reunited for a much anticipated tour, with Weezer slated as one of the opening acts. |

Blink 182 does it again with another great up tempo CD. Superb lyrics describing early college years for a guy. Keep up the good work. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Not even a punk fan... Tuesday, June 22, 1999 A Listener from South County, Ca
This one's hot! Great punk beats and high energy riffs with a simplistic tendency to satisfy the masses without selling out. These guys are great, I can't wait for their next release already. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 The Best one yet Tuesday, June 08, 1999 Samson Rhoades from New Jersey
If you like Blink 182 you will definately love this album. The album is a mix of punk and pop rock which makes it so you do not get tired of cd at all while listening to it. But, if you are a person who actually listens to the instruments and the complexity of the band members instrument playing, then this would not be a great idea because as a guitar player myself I relize that even after only a few times listening to the album, I figured out every chord on the cd.
