Upon the lips of a dying woman, an unheard whisper of impending doom foretells the tale of Hugh and Lucy Stanton. Struggling with the unexplained death of his wife (Wendy Crewson, Air Force One), Hugh Stanton (Christopher McDonald, Leave it to Beaver) clings to Lucy (Rachel Leigh Cook,, She's All That), his beautiful 15-year-old daughter. Since her mother's death, Lucy has fallen into a depression that she cannot overcome. That is, until a mysterious photographer and modeling agent show up offering her a trip to Italy to pursue a modeling career. The two describe Lucy as having the "face of an angel," insisting that with their guidance she will be the modeling world's next big discovery. Feeling that it might be Lucy's only hope of recovering from her depression, Hugh reluctantly gives in to the modeling plan and accepts a job in Italy. Once in Italy, Hugh gets and eerie, ominous feeling. Unexplainable things begin to happen and Lucy begins to act strangely. Fearing the worst, Hugh investigates these odd occurences--a slew of funeral processions with children's caskets; an army of wild cats; genetically engineered mice; a mysterious church with questionable practices; and a priest (Maximilian Schell, Judgement at Nuremberg) with a possible connection to the mystery of his wife's death. As Hugh begins to piece all the clues together, he comes to the horrifying realization that his daughter is in extreme danger of losing not only her life, but also her soul.

Editor's Note

A father (Christopher McDonald) travels with his daughter (Rachel Leigh Cook) to Rome to investigate an elusive Satanic cult that may have played a role in his wife's murder. It seems the woman was considered the "eighteenth angel", who's death was the essential part of a ritual that would bring upon the return of Satan to Earth. Meanwhile, the cult is working to clone beautiful people in order to form an army of "angels" to greet their master. A supernatural thriller written by David Seltzer (THE OMEN.)
