LabelWriter Duo offers the features of a LabelWriter 400 Turbo with the versatility of a DYMO electronic labelmaker. Print labels and tapes in one machine using the same software. Prints 55 labels per minute. Prints all DYMO D1 continuous tapes from 1/4" to 1" in height. Integrates with the most popular software programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Palm Desktop, Act, QuickBooks and more. Compatible with a PC or Mac. Automatically proofreads and corrects addresses against the USPS database.

    The setup (hardware & software) was a snap. The starter rolls of labels & tape are a little skimpy. The only knock against the printer is that it has no off switch. Other than that, it's a great label pronter for the price. Print quality is excellent.

    5 of 5 Another good product from Dymo. Monday, September 29, 2008

    I am in a professional services office and have the need for different types of labels. I have been using Dymo printers for many, many years and have always been very happy with them. I am currently using 3 different Dymo printers; each is loaded with a different type of label. The new "Duo" gives me the ability to also print out the nylon labels. One surprise is that the lower printer "spits" out the nylon labels. So I've had to move the printer to an unobstructed spot to keep from loosing the finished labels. However, this isn't a big deal. The printer works great and I would recommend it.

    I finally did get the printer exchanged and the new one works great. Dymo tech support was freindly and helpful although the order fufilment could be better. Overall I like the printer, it is well made and easy to use. It prints from the Dymo software or directly from some of my apps, like Quickbooks. The print quality is pretty good and the speed is OK. The Dymo software utility could be better but it is quite functional. It should be easier to import data for the address book and access directly to the data would make editing easier

    There is a problem with the printer that I have been trying to work out with the munufacturer. The printer clips off the first part of each mailing label. They sent me a remanufactured one that worked but was two years old. I told them that I wanted a new one as mine was brand new and defective out of the box. When a new replacement arrrived it also printed with same error. I have worked with maker to try to get printer working but have not found a solution yet. I suspect the problem is in the printer firmware or the Dymo software. I'm sure they will figure it out but you may want to hold off on this model until they do.
