4 of 5 Good product with good value for your money Monday, June 01, 2009 Alex from NJ
I got this radio because it was pretty much the only "shaft-style" radio I could get. I wasn't expecting anything exceptional about it but after it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. Quality is very good and radio looks like it is built well. Controls are tight and cables in the back clearly marked. They even finished pre-outs with RCA jacks. My only complaint is that with shaft-style radio, the pots should have adjustable width to fit older cars. I had to modify my dash for the radio to fit but I do have 1970 Chevy so maybe 40 years is too long to keep back compatibility. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Could use a little more detail (Specs) Wednesday, May 20, 2009 Troy from Jacksonville, FL
I really like the radio. It is a great product for the price. I have an old car that had a shaft style radio in it from the factory. I needed a new one, so I ordered this unit. It looks great in the car, but I had to make some modifications to it so it would fit. The measurement (distance between two shafts) was not given in the specifications for the unit. When I tried to install the unit, it would not fit (shafts too close together). Fortunately I was able to make some changes to it so it would work. This IS a shaft style radio that can be mounted as a DIN style as well. To make it a shaft style, you just have to remove 4 screws as stated in the instructions. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Not a Shaft Style Radio Wednesday, July 30, 2008 Kevin E from Indiana
I purchased this product to fit in the dash of my Jeep CJ-7, trying to find a radio to retrofit without cutting the dash. Well this product that is advertised as a shaft style radio is a DIN style radio with 2 knobs. It does not even come close to fitting into the existing dash. I would have had to cut a rectangular hole to make this radio mountable. Bad advertising. Was this review helpful?
