5 of 5 Drive it like you stole it! Monday, December 29, 2008 Harvey Mushman from Los Angeles, CA
This movie has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it in the theater in 1978. At the time it was some of the best driving shot on film since Bullett. Like Bullett, the driving is real with no film speed-ups, or CGI, or big ramp jumps. I think it has just recently been re-released on DVD after a long absence. If you enjoy high performance driving and thrilling chases, this movie is a must for your personal collection.
The plot is a little thin and the acting is wooden at best but if you like burning rubber and roaring V8 power, this movie is for you! This is no Dukes of Hazzard or Cannonball Run. It is a serious flick about a professional getaway driver (Ryan O'Neil) who crosses paths with a shady cop (Bruce Dern) who is not above breaking the law to get his man. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I've wanted to see this movie agian after 28 years Wednesday, November 01, 2006 A Viewer from Baldwin
I saw this movie at the movie theater in 1978. I always wanted to see it agian but couldn't find it. Well finally I found it and it was as good as the first time I saw it. Brought back a lot of fond memories and the driving in this movie was great for its time. Now I can enjoy it when ever I want. Was this review helpful?
