Features: DVD, Widescreen, Pan and Scan (TV Format), Aspect Ratio 1.33:1, Bonus Featurette, Trailer Legend tells of three magic diamonds that, if in the wrong hands, can be united to create a force powerful enough to freeze the sun. When the evil sorcerer Zeebad escapes from his ancient prison, he vows to exact revenge by deep-freezing Earth forever. Determined to save the world, a fellowship of four unlikely heroes band together to foil Zeebad''s villainous plot. Led by the candy-loving mutt Doogal, friends Dylan, Brian and Ermintrude embark on an epic adventure. In order to find the diamonds before Zeebad, they must climb icy mountains, navigate fiery pits of molten lava, sail across vast oceans and pass through a booby-trapped temple guarded by an army of ninja skeleton warriors. Along the way they learn that the most powerful weapon is their friendship, which even Zeebad''s evil magic cannot destroy. "...the animation itself is thoroughly inspired." Ken Fox, TV Guide

| | Professional Reviews | eFilmCritic.com 5 of 10 This looks like the computer programming came from a book called "CG for Dummies." When the big boys in the field, like Pixar and Blue Sky, raise the bar with each new release, what's the point of unleashing such amateurish work? This makes "Hoodwinked" look like "Spirited Away." It's pitiful."Doogal" looks like a direct to video flick that the Weinstein brothers thought they could squeeze a couple of bucks from in theaters. Don't fall for it. If your kids ask you to take them to see it, make them stay home and clean their rooms instead. When they get older, they'll thank you for it. - Doug Bentin Reel.com 6 of 10 Nothing happens that isn't completely predictable, and despite the vocal talent, there is precious little humor and the characters are uniformly bland. For a movie so concerned with the enchanted, there is nothing magical about it. Occasionally, it rises to the level of the pedestrian, but mostly it is just dismal and incompetent. Neither funny nor sweet nor very interesting, Doogal is only 85 minutes long, but feels much longer, bereft as it is of imagination or anything resembling personality. Well, at least the title represents truth in advertising. Doogal is definitely a dog. - Pam Grady
