A Reader from New York  

I think this is the most useful philosophy book I've ever read. It has the added advantage of being well written and even interesting, both unusual attributes in philosophy. Berumen throttles relativism and subjectivism, and makes ethics something more than rules from some mysterious authority in the sky. I recommend it. I highly recommend it.
