We now have four of these, and they have organized our DVD's and CD's to clean up clutter! My husband is transfering our VHS tapes to DVD, and now we know where our home movies are with the touch of a button. They arrived in perfect condition, and very quick. Will purchase more, I'm sure. If you are like me and love to collect dvd's then this is the product for you. Not only is it easy to use, it is a great value. I have already bought 3 and will continue to buy them until everything I have is organized. The fact that there was no shipping cost also was a plus for me. I have shown my family my discgear and they all want one too. By storing all my discs in my discgear, I can get rid of all the bulky boxes and clear up space for other things to go on my bookshelves. I have a large number of these (16) and when they arrive intact they are great for reducing DVD or CD clutter. The problem is the plastic hinge that keeps the unit shut seems a weak spot. Of the 16 I ordered (in lots of either two units, or four units) four arrived with the plastic hinge broken off, all in different shipments. I therefore am batting 25 percent on having to return the units to buy.com for replacement.
I am hoping this is not a precursor to the hinges breaking off with use, but cannot evaluate this yet as I have only had them for a short period of time. An alternative product that does not have the hinge problem is the Discgear Selectr 80S, although it is not as attractive and is missing a feature or two (also buy.com does not presently offer free shipping for this latter product for some reason).
Incidentally, of the 16 I own, about half are the black version and half are the brown, so I am posting the identical review under each product. Was this review helpful?

Although it took some time to set up the CD list online and sort my CD's. the organized look is fantastic! There were CD's I didn't know I had! We have big karaoke theme parties two or three times a year and everyone seemed to just open the CD cases and leave everything out to get scratched and misplaced. Now I hope the Discgear will help keep order. I wish I had bought two, The price just went up about $30 since I ordered last week! :( I will positively watch for it to go on sale again! It would make a great gift. The only drawback is that you won't have your CD track list and cover readily available. I think I might make a notebook with sleeves to put original CD inserts and number them according to my Discgear labels. Was this review helpful?

Excellent product for organizing disks.
I had too many DVD's and was tryiing to make a decision about how to store them: Disk rack sitting in room, or hung on wall. They take up too much space. This holds 100 disc in the size of a small box. Very nice looking too. easy to use on line software. I have my first one half full and already purchased a second one.
I researched reviews on other shopping web sites, and it was pretty much the same, discgear seems to be the best liked, best quality product Was this review helpful?

This storage box will last a long time and do the job efficiently. It includes the ability to enter your Titles at their website and print out a clean, easy to read listing that fits into a pop out drawer to aid in location of desired media. The box is also quite compact, considering it holds 100 discs. Be aware though that the lid has to have room to open in order to remove the selected disc. One small problem I have noticed (and this has not stopped me from ordering 2 more by the way) is that there is a very strong plastic odor evident and it takes quite a while for it to completely go away. Perhaps letting the box sit in the sun for a couple of hours (without the discs of course) would help to speed up the process. But I didn't think of this until I had loaded all my movies. The odor does go away on its own but takes about two weeks. Don't let this scare you off. I think you will be satisfied greatly with this system. Was this review helpful?
