Editor's Note
DIRTY SEXY MONEY revolves around the highly conspicuous Darling family, an absurdly wealthy and powerful clan who get whatever they want, including the services of reluctant lawyer Nick George (Peter Krause, SIX FEET UNDER). When his father, the Darling?s long-term attorney, dies under strange circumstances, Nick is asked by the family to fill his father?s shoes. The proposition puts Nick in a quandary: the money offered as compensation would fund his various altruistic endeavors, but the strings attached may force him to get his hands dirtier than he?d like. The money eventually proves too tempting, and Nick proceeds to help the family members, including the shady patriarch, Tripp (Donald Sutherland), his posh wife, Letitia (Jill Clayburgh), and their high-profile children, keep their skeletons well-hidden and their wealth well-protected. This collection includes every episode from the show?s second and final season, which sees Lucy Liu and Blair Underwood join the regular cast.

The New York Times 8 of 10
CBS's "Cane" has sex, rum and salsa and still manages to be plodding..."Dirty Sexy Money" on ABC is set in the suit-and-tie world of New York City and is a lot more fun...The fact that their premieres come so close together -- "Cane" begins tonight, "Dirty Sexy Money" tomorrow night -- is useful. Everything that is right about the ABC series illustrates what is wrong with the very similar one on CBS. It's more than the basic elements of casts and scripts. "Dirty Sexy Money" is a drama that doesn't take itself seriously and is all the more sophisticated for it. "Cane" is deadly earnest, making it kind of funny despite itself...On "Dirty Sexy Money" Nick is a do-good lawyer who was estranged from his own father, mostly because he resented the way his father's work as the Darling family lawyer sucked up all the free time and attention. When Nick's father dies, however, Tripp coaxes him to take his father's place and he reluctantly agrees, over the objections of his wife and the needs of his small child...His new job demands a lot more than handling trusts and estates. At first sight, the Darling siblings fit into easy stereotypes. While fending off the sexual advances of the slutty older sister, Karen (Natalie Zea), Nick has to corral the twins, Juliet (Samaire Armstrong) ? a Paris Hilton-ish celebutante ? and Jeremy (Seth Gabel), a dissolute little playboy lost. Another brother, Brian Darling (Glenn Fitzgerald), is an Episcopalian minister with a family and also an illegitimate son, and he hates Nick with unbridled passion...But Nick's biggest burden is Patrick (Mr. Baldwin), a family-values Senate candidate whose private life includes a sultry transgender lover, Carmelita (Candis Cayne)...Over time, the Darlings grow more complicated and surprising. The Duques remain single-faceted..."Cane" could use less sugar and more spice. "Dirty Sexy Money" lives up to its name. - Alessandra Stanley
