The charger takes several hours to give a full charge, but it's simple to operate(plug in and leave it), and is much cheaper than most of the faster but not necessarily better quick chargers out there. With 8 AA digipower batteries and this charger, I'm assured to have at least one set charged and ready to use. The batteries that come with this charger are 2000 mAh, which are far superior to even the best alkaline models. Digipower also offers a 4-pack of 2400 mAh batteries that work well with this charger.
