5 of 5 Get it while you still can Monday, February 02, 2009 giantjoebot from the internet
With open source driver you get true digital pass through. Best sound card for a HTPC, or any computer that is connected to an amp. Mine came with digital coaxial, and not optical like in the picture. You use to be able to find these cmedia based cards cheap on ebay, but they are becoming rarer, and more expensive. Especially since they are such good cards with the open source driver, for so cheap. So get one before they run out, and you end up fighting over them on ebay, and paying more. At least thats my not so distant future prediction. Was this review helpful?

I bought this for coaxial SPDIF output, and it works good. But currently can not judge the sound quality. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 awesome Sunday, August 10, 2008 Jordan T from Marietta, GA
This thing is pretty awesome. It was pretty cheap and it works great. It's a big upgrade from my motherboard's integrated sound! Music sounds awesome with the card. Video games and movies sound awesome too! I would recommend this card for anybody looking to upgrade from their integrated sound for really cheap. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Better Than I Expected Saturday, May 31, 2008 A Customer from Tacoma, WA
I use old (I am old) but high end stuff, like Boston Acoustic speakers and quality amp with power. Garage sale to junk store but quality stuff for under $100 that in its day cost big bucks. The Diamond XtremeSound 7.1/24 bit Sound Card - PCI - 24 bit is easy to set up for two speaker and the equalizer options are perfection. The card is economical, easy to install and cleaned up the sound. I did turn the onboard stuff off just like the directions said and had no problems. What else is there.

5 of 5 Works great with my 5.1 Logitech X-530 speakers Thursday, August 16, 2007 A Customer from Carlisle, PA
I wanted a good sound card to listen to music on my refurbished Logitech 5.1 X-530 speakers I got on eBay. I bought this card after researching cheap 5.1 and 7.1 cards on Newegg--I've had it for about a month and it's worked great thus far. I couldn't get the alternative sound card drivers that I found in a Newegg review to work (only because I had trouble un-installing/disabling my old sound card drivers), but the included CD drivers work well. I originally tried it with my 5.1 system plus two desktop speakers and that worked fine, although the input jack colors didn't completely match the sound card hole colors. Overall, a quality card at a low price! Was this review helpful?

I used this sound card to hook up my home theater system to it to get surround sound. Worked out great. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good value Tuesday, May 29, 2007 Rick from Columbia, SC
The card installed easily. Plenty of power. I don't use all of the outputs or features but they are there if and when I need them. The software is intuitive. All around good deal for the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great card for the money Monday, October 09, 2006 Jim S from Blairsville, GA
It works! For the money you can’t go wrong. I have six of these. I have two installed with no problems. Just make sure you go into your setup and disable the sound device on the motherboard. Pop in the card and install the driver and software. You won’t get the sound of the more expensive cards but it is great for listening to music while you work. I’m happy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Our second Diamond product purchase Monday, October 09, 2006 deby5ft from Matteson, Illinois
This is the second Diamond product we have purchased through Buy.com.
The first was a Diamond Stealth Video Card for 1 of our computers.
This one was a Diamond Sound Card for a different computer. A Dell we bought a couple years ago. Never thought we'd need to upgrade the sound card when we bought the Dell, but we did.
This product was a basic "Plug & Play" & has done everything it was advertised to be.
Highly recommended for anyone who can change hardware, & even for those who are doubtful if they can or can't.
The instructions can walk you through it.
Side note....We got GREAT deals on both through Buy.com

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Exceptional Value Monday, September 25, 2006 Gerry Wittmuss from Omaha NE
Excellent features for cost, easy to install and an outstanding upgrade for your mediocre build-in sound system. I got a lot more than I expected and when I compared to same item on E-bay I couldn't find a new card that could compete in cost, features, and warranty. Can't go wrong! Was this review helpful?
