1 of 5 CRASH ON ARRIVAL Monday, June 16, 2008
    Isaac from Bayside, NY
I bought this from Buy.com because of the low price after rebate, but it has only given me problems. The fan is definitely on the loud side and it has crashed on me when it came to playing videos, particularly DVDs and .mp4 and .mov. After going through tech support, it was determined that I had a faulty video card and the product was still under warranty. However, it cost me $10 to ship it from NY and Diamond Multimedia asked me to write a $9 check so they can ship it back to me from CA. I hope that $19 makes it work, although I don't think I should pay a single dime since it is purely a manufacturer problem. Next time, I'm going with XFX. They paid for everything under their warranty when my previous 6600GT had a fan problem. Other than HDCP and DirectX 10.0, my 3 year old XFX 6600GT is better than the Diamond HD 2600XT. That's pretty sad. Hopefully I can revise this when I get the card back from Diamond.

    1 of 5 NOISY FAN Wednesday, June 04, 2008
    A Customer from Washington, DC
The cooling fan on this Diamond video card is LOUD. I could not tolerate the noise to even get through the driver installation process. This card is definitely the noisiest card I have ever tried!

2 of 5 Crashes here too. Monday, June 02, 2008
    Harold from New York, NY
Same here. Maybe the satisfied users don't write reviews, only the disgruntled ones. Still, the machine keeps crashing. Before it crashes, the games do look nicer. Maybe I'll be smart enough to take it out before it corrupts my hard drive. I hope the rebate comes.

4 of 5 Works great for what I need Thursday, May 29, 2008
    Pat from Manteno, IL.
I'm kinda new to the videocard realm, but this card works great for what I need. I'm running a 2.4Ghz quad core with an DVico HDTV7 tuner card. I mostly use this card for watchnig TV and movies. I've got a 50" plasma and a 24"LCD running off of this card. Things pass from screen to screen flawlessly. As I've read other reviews they are correct about the fan noise. The fan on this card is the loudest thing in my PC. I've got a large covered compartment in my entertainment center where the 36" tube TV used to be, so that is a nice space for the PC to go and almost aleviates all of the fan noise, so it does not bother me to much. Not sure about the gaming capabilities. Got this card for $15 AR. The price was very right for what I needed. I would recomend this card at 3x that price.

5 of 5 Not bad, Amazing for the price. Wednesday, May 28, 2008
    A Customer from Dover, NH
No problems installing. I use it exclusively for gaming and its just fine. I got it with the rebate, and the price after that is just amazing. Its not a powerful card - its not going to run any new games on their high settings. I'm playing Age of Conan right now, and when I'm in a small area, it runs perfectly on medium (~30fps), but most of the time im out in larger areas with more characters and demands on the card, and I have to switch it to low to get ~15-(maybe)20 fps. So thats, my experience with it. Not a bad card, extremely good for the after-rebate price. Oh, and the fan isn't too loud, idk why other people said this was a problem.

    5 of 5 A Fine Video Card Wednesday, May 28, 2008
A Customer from Southern California, CA
If you're looking for a low to mid-end video card to surf the net and play older games at a very very low price (thanks to buy.com rebates) you can't go wrong with this video card.

    1 of 5 Crash, Crash Tuesday, May 27, 2008
A Customer from San Diego, Ca.
Crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash. Corrupted disc. Crash, crash. And then, finally, it installs. But then, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash, crash. Watch a t.v. show, crash. Play a movie--crash. Another corrupted disc. Spend hours researching on the internet to try to get it to work. Oh, try to underclock it. Oh, try to use older drivers. Spend hours trying to get the thing to work. Still, the thing sits in your computer cooking away at 170 degrees at idle. It sounds like a jet engine at times. What an absolute piece of garbage. The manufacturer knows this, which is why its giving such a large rebate. Then, as you're looking around for ways to get the card to work, you find tons of complaints regarding crashes from other people on the net. Also, you find stories of people not getting their rebates. You find out that the card's manufacturer has received an F from its local Better Business Bureau because of problems it has honoring its rebates. Congrats, you just bought yourself what might amount to an 80 dollar rock. So, I just spent 13 bucks just to ship mine back. That was half the after-rebate price of the card. The other half might be taken up by restocking fees. That's the way it goes. I just wanted this piece of junk gone. It was either that or the garbage can. --xp media center 2005

5 of 5 Nice inexpensive upgrade to older cards Thursday, May 22, 2008
    Speedtrain from Altoona, PA
This card is not a powerhouse for gaming, but it isn't advertized as such. It does give you 256MB video ram, DirectX 10, and HDMI. The fan needs to be replaced and there are inexpensive ones that do a real nice job for under $10. With the huge rebate this is dirt cheap and well worth the money IMO.

3 of 5 Not what is in the picture Saturday, May 17, 2008
    A Customer from San Diego
First, know that the card does not look like the picture (red card with white flames). Instead, it's a bit shorter card with a picture of a female character on it. Too bad. Second, although the fan is not speed controlled, it is not THAT loud (as some have complained). If you're using it for an HTPC, it is not silent, but for a normal PC, it's certainly normal. Lastly, performance-wise, it's no 8800GT! Also, the ATI Catalyst Control Center won't come up even after updating the ATI CCC suite. Oh well. Good price!
