The long-running CBS television series DIAGNOSIS MURDER offers a clever hybrid of the medical-drama and murder-mystery genres. Comedy legend Dick Van Dyke anchors the series as Dr. Mark Sloan, a hospital physician who helps his detective son, Steve (Van Dyke's real-life son, Barry), solve crimes for the Los Angeles Police Department. Helping out on the medical front are Sloan's hospital partner Dr. Amanda Bentley (Victoria Rowell), and new hire Jesse Travis (Charlie Schlatter).
