Living in a small apartment, I decided to go with DHT-FS3 rather than real 5.1. Although I don't think it sounds as good as real 5.1, I am still impressed. In my small living room, it delivers a crisp, well-defined sound with a good amount of bass from the subwoofer.
I tried "Saving Private Ryan (DVD)" and "Batman Begins (Blu-ray)" both with digital optical cable, and was very satisfied.
The right speaker works a bit better for me since I have a sold wall on the right side while windows and a couch on the left. So depending on room's shape and conditions, it may need to be properly positioned to get the best out of it.
I also tried some music (mostly classical and jazz) from iPod and CDs, but wasn't as impressed; however this may not be an issue of DHT-FS3. Somehow I found it just doesn't feel right when listen to music from any home theater systems in general.
Overall I am very happy with it since it is pretty much what I needed.
One thing I would like to point out is that the bar speaker unit can be tall enough to block TV's remote receiver; so one should make sure it doesn't before buying it. Was this review helpful?
