1 of 5 Design defect causes unacceptable audio noise Friday, May 23, 2008

When listening on the satellite radio, a high level of background noise is present that is characterized by a 20 Hz or so ticking sound. This is present even when the volume is turned fully off. When listening to the CD player, there is an electrical interference sound like a motor running. Running from batteries or the wall didn't make a difference.
I like the design (XM + CD), but Delphi did a really poor job on the execution of the audio system they incorporated. The XM radio included seems to work ok when using the included car kit, so its not a total loss. Was this review helpful?
