Set up is dead simple. Reception within 50 feet appears to be nearly flawless (very occasionally there is a sub-second drop out).
This is in a house filled with other wireless devices (WiFi, cordless phones, etc.). Although, none of them operate in the 900MHz frequency range.
We can finally move the XM radio around the house without losing reception (or worrying about a south-facing window). Was this review helpful?

I have very few south facing windows in my home. I placed the repeater near them and broadcast the signal into the rest of the house. Reception is much better now.
It says on the box that it may interfere with other 900mhz devices, but I haven't had any problems. Was this review helpful?

You need to use their 900 Mhz antenna on your receiver, so the setup cannot be used for "around the house" XM. It requires a dedicated setup. Was this review helpful?

One of the most disappointing and frustrating aspects of Satellite Radio is that the FCC allocated it a frequency that is so high and a signal so weak that it cannot penetrate objects, walls, or buildings. This repeater gets around that by retransmitting the signal over 900 MHz onto a dongle you hang off your radio. The dongle is powered by the radio so it will drag battery life down. If you have an Inno or Helix you will need the special antenna adapter (not included) or a docking station.
Overall I'm amazed how well this works.
I regret that this device is needed because the FCC forced Satellite Radio to be so bad.

Very easy to use and set up.I have a Delphi myfi with a base unit speakers system. I purchased this unit to solve the issue of dragging the antenna all over the house when I used. I set up the antenna in a spare room facing south (not even in the window) works great, get 3-4 bars every time. Was this review helpful?

I was skeptical when I saw the price of this unit compared with other sites, but I decided to give it a try anyway based on the reviews here. Boy am I glad I did! I received my package in 3 days and had the repeater up and running in less than 5 minutes. My signal level immediately went from 1-2 bars at best with frequent signal fade to solid 3 bars with no signal fade whatsoever. This product has been the perfect solution for my situation. My wife wanted to move our home office from the 2nd floor where my XM radio was to the basement, so I did a "test run" downstairs and as expected the signal from the satellite was completely eliminated to my SkyFi 2. Therefore, I purchased the repeater from Buy.com and easily hooked it up and now I'm happy to report I have full signal strength with the original antenna and base station still residing on the 2nd floor and the SkyFi 2 with the pick-up antenna in the basement. I have a Pionner Inno, and since my office faces north, I couldn't get recption. This unit works perfectly. Additionally, I can now use the Inno downstairs on the other side of the house with my ipod station. Reception is excellent, even over 50 feet away through a few walls. Was this review helpful?

Even though Buy.com has the best price on this item by far, I find it falls very short on performance. I had installed this unit at my worksite and yes it does have metal objects around the office but it had trouble transmitting 50 feet reliably. At times the signal would fade out and then return. I ended up using a 50 foot low loss coax extender direct to the XM unit. Thus the unit in not even in use. Very disapointed. Was this review helpful?

I installed this unit at my workplace and yes there is steel and concrete all around, but I attempted to get the best height and line of sight as possible. The signal is often blocked with the passing of groups of people in the under 50 foot of transmission. The transition power switch is at the max as well. I had to use a coax extender just to get the transmitter close to my work area. Buy.com has the best price and I would have been VERY upset if I paid the MSRP. Yes it works, but it has issues.
