The Latitude D610 is designed for users who require quality, ease of use and long term value in a mainstream thin and light laptop. If you prefer a simple notebook that isn't flashy then the D610 is for you. The finish is an attractive silver/grey matte with lighter colored accents around the keyboard and touch-pad. There aren't a bunch of cumbersome quick-launch buttons: just volume up/down and mute, and the power button. Alongside these buttons are indicator lights for num lock, scroll lock, and caps lock, as well as Wifi and Bluetooth indicator lights. Wifi is turned on/off via function keys (no physical switch). There are also indicator lights on the right-hand "hinge" of the LCD screen for power, HDD activity, and battery status.

Purchased this laptop to fill out lack of a windows system, and also lack of a portable. This item solidly fills both. Though it is sold as a refurbished item, it is all but indistinguishable from a brand new laptop. The one exception being that the little joystick in the center of the keyboard shows a bit of wear. I am very pleased with this purchase. One caveat. The item was described as containing 1GB of RAM, mine arrived in a box clearly labeled as 1GB, But the laptop itself only contained 512MB. A quick email to the excellent service department of JoySystems had the additional memory on the way. Five minutes to install, one screw, and a reboot and I am back with a gig. Fantastic!
