| | | The physical characteristics of these cards are their weight, 0.07 ounces, their size, one sixth of a credit card (32 mm x 24 mm x 2.1 mm) particularly lends them to communicating mobile markets: personal assistants/PDA, MP3 drivers, Mobile phones, also to digital equipment such as cameras and others. Their rate of data-transfer varies between 2 and 4 MB per second. Compared to the Multi Media Card composed of 7 connexion pins, the Secure Digital card is composed of 9 connexion pins. This new organization allows faster transfer of data while the memory card is on SD mode. On the other hand, the Secure Digital has an integrated security mechanism, the CPRM - Content Protection for Recorder Media - which insures a high degree of protection and file-encryption. It controls the reading, copying, transfer or erase functions. In this way it becomes possible for the user to forbid or authorize the copy or to offer a reproduction right.

Loaded some video, pics and purposely checked that it would work between my Olympus Camera, my PS3 and my Creative Labs mp3 player. Did not seem as fast loading than some of my other cards but for most applications it is not of any consequence. All worked seamlessly without the slightest of complaint. Buy with confidence! Bought two of these for a Nike camera - they work great! No problems and less than half the price the camera store wanted for half the memory!
Haven't been able to download pictures from the card yet, but believe that to be a computer issue. Otherwise, for the price, I can work around the computer problem. Was this review helpful?

I use this card for music and audio books in a specialized device for those who have print impairments. It has functioned flawlessly and speed and ease of use are not in question. The card was packaged in a bubble envelope when shipped and as best as I can tell not damaged in any way. I recieved the card in a short time frame and was very pleased with it's performance. This product works well with the Panasonic TZ4S camera, which is SDHC compliant. I bought the 4GB.

This is an all-around good value. Just make sure you check your manual, or call the camera's manufacturer, to be certain that the camera can handle 4 GB. I found out that the KIOSK at the local drugstore wouldn't take 4 GB! The card is great, allows adequate video time, and holds more than enough photos for my vacations ( on my 7 megapixel camera ). A nice cheap and convenient way to store and move data. Be very careful that you have a card reader that'll read SDHC. It's not a matter of the number of connectors on the SD card, the electronics are different from SD cards and regular SD card readers won't read this one. I've purchase two of these cards-one for a Nikon d80,and another for the Canon 5IS point and shoot. In both cameras the cards have performed outstandingly, allowing me to shoot hundreds of photos in both cameras. I shoot many macro pictures of insects and with a 4GB card I don't have to worry about using up all the space the card has to offer. I haven't had any problems what-so-ever with this brand of card. I received the rebate in about 8 weeks.It was worth the wait,and Buy.com had the cheapest price... Was this review helpful?

This is a SDHC card, not an SD card. While this is slightly confusing, if you take a minute and google or wiki it you will realize that this is the next generation of SD card (>2GB) and is NOT backwards compatible in SD devices.

I know it was a good deal and I am sure this is an excellent product, however, at the time of my puchase there was no warning stating that these SD cards do NOT work on many devices, including my Palm TX. The product is great after you are able to get it to work. I bought this product for the Windows Vista ReadyBoost system to work in my Acer Aspire laptop. I was unable to get the disk to come up in my computer at all. Doing some hunting on the internet in a couple of blogs I was able to find a driver (version 2.0.0.8) that solved this problem. Ever since it has been working flawlessly and my computer does run quite a bit faster than before with much less hang-ups like IE not responding or other windows/programs that will not launch. I bought this card for my Canon SD1000 digital camera, which I found out (surprisingly) takes great full size 30fps videos. It worked out great, I don't have to take a video camera with me anymore.
Had a problem with delivery initially and wasn't sure if I would be able to use the rebate but after contacting customer service they rushed the product and it was all sorted out. A definite buy if you want a fast inexpensive 4GB HCSD. Was this review helpful?
