Part of Universal's extensive and cheaply packaged Number 1's series rolled out in early 2007, this compilation features 15 songs that topped the dance chart from 1976 through 1991 -- or the disco era through the point in time when house music was at its most popular. While a lot of discs in the series are filled to near-maximum capacity, there are 20 minutes of unused space here, which is especially a shame since the superior 12" mixes could have been used in several cases. Instead, the disc sticks to radio edits and album versions.
