Just as the furor over her notorious exposure at the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show died down in the spring of 2004, the iconic Janet Jackson unleashed DAMITA JO. While the soul-baring, bedroom-eyed record is unlikely to win over anyone scandalized by her Super Bowl antics, Jackson's fans--and fans of sensual, soulful pop in general--should enjoy the sultry outing, which continues the theme of sexual discovery that she began on 1993's JANET.
With over two decades of dominating the charts and a lifetime as musical royalty, Jackson knows her way around a tune, and DAMITA JO is swimming in pop hooks. There are a number of down-and-dirty tracks such as "Strawberry Bounce," "Warmth," and "Moist," which slink joyfully and lustily through the night. However, Jackson truly scores when she combines the distinctly carnal with more innocent pop notions, as she does with sublime beauty on the Dramatics-esque "I Want You" and with verve on the irresistible dance-rock of "Just a Little While."

Janet Finds a way to make you feel so good in her albums. I loved all for you and I like Damita Jo more. When I first got all for you back in 2001 I Listened to the upbeat tracks like All for u and Son of a gun, but as I listened more I find My self listening to china Love and Love scene(ooh baby) and these songs make you feel so many emotions and you know what it is the same thing with Damita Jo it is an amazing album and so diffrent from her previous and yet so the same.

5 of 5 DAMITA JO IS JANET AT HER BEST!!! Wednesday, April 07, 2004
tovereazy@aol.com from Phoenix, AZ
If you have ever listened to a Janet song or cd, then you know she has always encouraged fans and the rest of the world to think outside of the box in regards to such issues as racism, bigotry, illiteracy, homophobia, domestic violence, sexuality and self-worth. But for the 1st time in Janet's remarkable 20 something plus years in the music industry, she is asking us to think outside of the box in regards to her with the lastest release DAMITA JO. There are 16 songs and 6 "Dunk-isms" on DAMITA JO. What is a "Dunk-ism"? Well, its a term I use to represent the dialogue and skits between songs. And what does "dunk" mean? Well you will just have to buy the cd to find out, hehe. There is something on this cd for everyone no matter where your musical taste falls. If you like R&b, then the songs 'Damita Jo', 'Sexhibition', 'My Baby' w/Kanye West and 'Like You Dont Love Me' are the grooves you'll be jammin' at your parties and in your cars. If you're a club head then you better mark your territory on the dance floor early, because once the djs start pumpin' the anthems 'All Nite', 'Strawberry Bounce', 'R&B Junkie' and 'Slo Love' there wont be an empty spot on the floor. For those who like it slow and intimate then 'I Want You', 'Spending Time With You' and 'Island Life' will definitely set the mood. And for those of us with a freaky side, nothing says it lyrically better than the songs 'Warmth' and 'Moist'. A word of warning, please dont play the last 2 songs I mentioned around your significant other unless you are REALLY serious about um, well, you know. The songs on DAMITA JO will have you wanting to party, sing, dance, reminence and make love, but this time Janet is asking us to look beyond her celebrity and just accept her for being Janet Damita Jo Jackson.
