2 of 5 Works fine as long as it works... Thursday, July 02, 2009 A Customer from West Palm Beach, Florida
I have gone through 3 of these now, all attached to Win XP Pro PCs. Installation is ok, and it works with Windows' zero configuration, which makes things easy. When it works, it is quite reliable and speed is as expected for G adapters.
However, problems started after ca. 6 months of use. First, network connection was lost; the USB adapter had to be removed (after removing USB device through task bar first!) and re-inserted. It would find its network again. A few weeks down the line, it could not find the network at all, and I had to de-install the D-Link software and then re-install it from the CD. The USB adapter then would find the network again, at least for a while until the next de-installation/re-installation round was due. At the end, the USB adapters just stopped blinking and never came up again. Time to replace. As said, I have gone through 3 of them so far, each of them playing for about 6-8 months. I am trying another brand now. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Ok item for price Saturday, March 14, 2009 A Customer from Terre Haute, IN
Purchased this for 19.99 for the office front desk. Corporate OIT wont service it, but it hasn't given us a problem. Great if you just need basic wireless service. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice Product with Average Performance Tuesday, February 24, 2009 Ken C from Hagerstown, MD
I really like the well designed packaging and the little stand they give you. It is weighted to keep device in one place and very satisfied with the install process. The driver is not in your face like other vendors and was a smooth install. Performance wasn't as good as I would have liked but acceptable and average. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great value for the price Sunday, January 18, 2009 KB from Ocean Springs, MS
Haven't had any problems at all. I use this device with my son's desktop PC in his room. Best performance can be gained by using the external stand and placing the antenna away from the PC.
Bottom line: It's worth the money and priced very well. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Works BUT..... Sunday, January 04, 2009 Retired Texan from Hawkins Texas
The instructions are way too complicated regarding removing ALL other wireless programs/devices before installing D-Link software. A computer tech said no need and installed immediately and it worked. However it required hunting for a good physical location and results were less than using the built-in wireless antennas in my new HP TouchSmart computer. I took it off and stored back in box! Maybe I can use it on something else later? Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Product Wednesday, December 03, 2008 A Customer from Jacksonville, FL
We bought this unit to be able to hook-up more than one computer to the internet. Set-up was very simple and it works like a charm. Only improvement I'd make is if the connection to the 2nd computer would be quicker, but it's still acceptable. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Once Installed, functions as described. Monday, November 17, 2008 Raj from Atlanta, GA
Bougth this to replace my laptop's built-in wireless radio. On downside, it consumes more power which translates to less time when running on battey. on Upside, I have not faced any issues after installation. Installation was slower then I expected. But overall I am satisfied with this buy.

4 of 5 Only problem is "Standby Mode" Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Johnathan from Ohio
This installed easily and works fine, with the exception that the computer will not go into "Standby Mode" (which is set in Control Panel, Power option). If the "Sleep" button is pressed, it powers down and comes back, finding the connection just fine. Was this review helpful?

Using this on a P4 desktop 20-30 ft from AP/router. Both Linux (Ubuntu 8.04) and FreeBSD (7.0-R) support this device out-of-the-box. WPA causes FreeBSD to panic with the rum(4) device. WEP is solid with both OSes. H/W Ver: A1, F/W Ver: 1.30. Was this review helpful?
