5 of 5 Great router Tuesday, August 05, 2008 A Customer from Framingham, MA
I have replaced my old Siemens (Speedstream) router with DGL-4300 to get 1GB ethernet. I was considering DGL-4100 since I have wireless setup already, but for extra $25 I could not resist getting a spare wireless access point. The router was easy to set up and works flawlessly. My wired speed increased significantly compared to my old Siemens (has wired switching technology changed that much?). On a 10MB/s connection I was getting about 6-7Mb/s with the Siemens but I am getting 10Mb/s with the DGL-4300 (late at night, close-proximity unloaded server). I couldn't be happier with the product. Let's hope it lasts. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Not the latest - still the best. Tuesday, July 08, 2008 A Customer from Indiana
Pros: Easy setup of security, functionality, Gamerlounge
Cons: Why didn't I buy this sooner.
I have been using another brand router successfully for several years. While online gaming and with another computer connected wirelessly I was having probems with lag and dropped connections. Since moving to the DLink the problems have gone away.
I don't have any 802.11n comupters so the newer model wasn't necessary. The 4300 was a great deal for my gaming needs. Was this review helpful?

Pros
Best performance I have seen in a router, especially when applications are customized using the Gamefuel feature.
Superb and easy to use web interface and the vast range of settings would please even the most demanding users.
It does and performs as it was intended: Maintaining low latencies on customized applications not just games.
Distinctive fascia with removable and adjustable 5dBi antenna, it bends and rotates 360.
Cons
All these features and performance come with a high price.
To achieve the highest rated speed, a compatible adapter is required.
The one-year warranty is very short, taking into account the routers high price.

I've owned two Linsky wireless routers and I have been dissappointed with both. I had to reboot about once a week to make them work and they were slow. The D-Link wireless is fast and very reliable. So far so good. Was this review helpful?

Wired connections would periodically get dropped and the lights would start flashing in a spastic fashion. Max internet throughput was only 2meg. I get 6+meg with my linksys router. I have seen other comments on the web that indicate others are having the same problem I am. Of course, it is now out of warranty. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Simple to setup - will tell others Friday, March 23, 2007 Mike from Culver City, California
I found this to be a walk in the park setting up. I was guided with the wizard and finished in under 5 min. My ping for playing online games has dropped from a high 160 down to 50 which makes playing online again FUN!
Will recommend this to friends looking to speed up their connection as well.
I now have all D-Link hubs, nics and router now. Best part everything is working like a swiss clock.
Happy Buyer :-) Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Best Router Ever Friday, August 04, 2006 A Customer from Los Angeles, Ca
This is the fastest router I have ever had. It balances traffic between gagming and voip perfectly. You can download a file and continue to play a game with minimal lag. Plus it never crashes like my old smc and linksys routers where I had to reset them nearly every day. The range on the router is huge and the management website has a ton of different security tools with a slick design. Was this review helpful?

It's simply the finest router you can get for your home network- both for routine networking and hardcore gaming. Guaranteed to make your friends drool and your girlfriend jealous of your fascination with its blue LEDs. Oh yeah, Was this review helpful?

I received this in good time from Buy.com. Not knowing much about networking, I had this set up in 20 minutes. The router IP address provides brain dead wizards to set up the network and the wireless for you. Also, I have not noticed any latency in network gaming. My previous router liked to drop players almost at random. I am also looking forward to running all 4 computers in my house at giga bit speeds as soon as I instal the Cat6 wiring. Very nice product! This is singly the best Wireless Router on the market (as of 9/2005). I am a Network Administrator and even some Cisco Routers don't come with the sort of options and settings that this router has. The interface is simple to use and intuitive. The QoS feature is phenomenal and works flawlessly. I also play Counter-Strike: Source extensively and have noticed a decrease in the latency (with gamersfuel enabled) when someone is using the VoIP phone when compared to my old WRT54G router. This router is truly in the top of its class and supports many features that will appease even the most stringent users. My only suggestion is that you update the Firmware to the latest version prior to changing any settings. It is a breeze to do and only took about 1 minute. Truly exceptional. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Upgrade for a Reasonable Price Monday, September 26, 2005 The Zagmeister from Champaign, IL
Moved from a D-Link DI-624 to the DGL-4300 model. Pretty much the same form factor, different color, but the pay-off is really in performance. No lags, drop-offs, or hesitation for gamers. A little better optimized performance for VoIP. Overall, more features and better software controls with newer firmware that is surely X-Box compatible. I'm not so sure about the increased signal coverage vs. the DI-624. For the price, the upgrade was worth it. Was this review helpful?

Pros: The wireless signal improved as expected. Makes the signal go through the floor, yea. Don't have to do a cable drop through wall. Two LAN side computers with 32 bit GIG NIC are being used for 30% faster transfers. I need 64 bit GIG NIC but too expensive still.

Great price if you need, strong wireless (100mw, 5 dbi Ant), 4 port gig switch, and NAT BOX in one device /power supply.
It does QOS-stuff gaming seems great(Counter Strike).

Con: The lights are blue and bright...what will the electric bill be like? Was this review helpful?
